High satiety index

Many people, both men and especially women are weight-conscious. Many of these are also foodies. They love to eat and yet do not want to put on weight.

How can one achieve these dual goals at the same time? Is it possible? Yes, it is very much possible because there are certain foods that one can eat as much as he/she wants and yet it will not add to the body weight. Most of these are foods with high satiety indexes.

Foods that will not make a person gain weight

Every food has a certain satiety index. It refers to the extent to which foods make you satisfied or content after eating them.

Some foods have a high satiety index. Hence they give a feeling of fullness with less of its intake. Therefore, the other foods are consumed less and the person overall eats less and hence consumes fewer calories.

This is a highly nutritious food that has whole-grain carbs and high fiber content. It is simple and easy to cook. It has a high satiety index.

It gives a feeling of fullness soon and therefore there is no weight gain with it. It slows digestion and also lowers blood sugar.

Broths and soups

The non-creamy soups have a lot of water in them. It fills the stomach and satisfies our hunger. At the same time, it has very less calories. Therefore, one can consume it in good amounts without the fear of gaining weight.

Eggs

Any high-protein food adds to the muscle. And it also makes the eater feel full. Therefore, one eats less, and the chances of gaining weight get reduced.

Eggs have all nine essential amino acids in them. Additionally, it is highly bioavailable. After consuming eggs, one will not feel hungry for a long time.

Fish

Fish is rich in proteins and omega-3 fatty acids. But fats are less. It fills the stomach fast and the calories gained are not significant. The risk of weight gain is low.

Apples

Like other fruits, apples are nutritious with lots of minerals and vitamins. Moreover, they have a fiber called pectin. This is good for digestion and the gut.

Apples also have more water in them. All this leads to a high satiety index and the person feels full for a longer time after consuming it.

Cottage cheese

This is a dairy product with fats and proteins. It also has vitamin B, calcium, phosphorus, and selenium. But its satiety index is too similar to that of eggs. Hence it makes the person feel full soon. Therefore, the overall consumption is less, and the weight gain risk is low.

Oranges

They are rich in vitamin C. They also have 80 calories per medium-sized orange. The water content in it is also high and they help in blood sugar and blood cholesterol regulation. They make a person feel full and hence weight gain chances are low.

Legumes

Legumes are also high in protein that makes a person feel full and hence weight gain is less.

Zucchini

Zucchini vegetable has high water content and low calories. It gives a sense of fullness and hence consumption of other foods is less. Therefore, weight gain is also low.

Berries

Berries of all kinds have a lot of fiber and minerals and vitamins. They give satiety with no weight gain.

Popcorn

It has proteins and fills the stomach fast and more. Hence it causes no weight gain.

Green leafy vegetables and eggplants

These all have very low calories and provide fullness with fewer calories. Hence they do not add to the body weight.
