The largest city in Northern California, San Jose, is where An Nguyen was born and reared. An became quite interested in sports throughout his early years, especially American Football.

An originally went to the gym when he was 12 years old to help him get better on the football field. An originally intended to play professional football.

An, though, developed a growing interest in weightlifting as he worked his way through the gym.

An eventually began to regret choosing to pursue American football and developed a passion for bodybuilding.
