Camila Cabello has gained weight, but she isn’t embarrassed by it or any of her other physical flaws. The well-known American singer-songwriter, who is of Cuban descent, has frequently spoken out against “fatphobic” beauty standards and in favor of normalizing an unfiltered image of young women’s bodies.

Camila Cabello has been adamantly and openly spreading the word about her message of unabashed body positivity.

For instance, she discussed the same on TikTok on July 16 of this year, describing her feeling of insecurity over what she was wearing and how her body would be seen.

Cabello added in the video while displaying her sports bra and stomach, “I am wearing a shirt that displays my tummy, and I wasn’t tucking it in.” “because I was moving quickly and acting normally, not always tucking it in. Damn, I thought, but I quickly reminded myself that fighting with your body is so last season.”

Words of Body Positivity from Camila Cabello

The singer of “Havana,” who came discovered body-shaming articles about herself online, expressed encouraging words of body positivity on her Instagram stories back in 2019.

She claimed in her story that the social media posts and articles that featured her images initially made her feel “very nervous.” She at first felt guilty for not tucking her stomach in for the photographs. But she asserted that she later found solace, adding,

Of course, there are awful images and bad angles, and my body isn’t entirely made of muscle (or [expletive] rock, for that matter), but the saddest aspect of young ladies growing up in an airbrushed society is that they are striving for an unattainable ideal.

She continued by saying that our society had a wholly unrealistic perception of a woman’s body and had yet to embrace weight growth in general, let alone for women. She claimed that females’ bodies with “cellulite” or “fat” were normal and yet lovely and natural.

On The Late Late Show with James Corden in August 2021, Cabello highlighted the aforementioned TikTok video while discussing how she gained weight after being exposed to COVID-19.

She also felt compelled to discuss it personally because she was aware of how paparazzi would use her images to sell products on social media. The singer added that although her weight will fluctuate, nobody else should be concerned.

Shawn Mendes Was Inspired By Camila

Mendes is unquestionably one of the most in-demand performers right now, and it puts a lot of pressure on him to live up to people’s expectations. Because of this, the Canadian musician said that he experienced a trying period in an interview with GQ in November 2020.

On the other hand, he realized he could battle through his issues when he observed his partner Cabello fighting vehemently with the public and the media.

“He said of Cabello, “It truly transformed my image of mine. She is so powerful, so clear, and confident with her [body] and so eloquent and sensitive about other people’s. My entire life was altered by it.”

That’s what partners are for, after all: to assist, motivate, and advance together. Better luck to the pair!
