Because of my scoliosis and lordosis, I’ve always had problems with my back, hips, and traps (curvatures of the spine). Lifting has been the key factor keeping my spine from shifting for the majority of my life. I would need surgery after four more degrees.

Biography (Early Life)

Early Fitness Start

Because both of Cydney Gillon’s parents competed in bodybuilding, she got a head start in fitness. Quickly, staying fit and active became a way of life for her.

Despite not initially considering a career in fitness like her parents, Cydney entered her first fitness competition at the age of 14 due to her competitive spirit.

On top of that, Cydney was a standout track athlete. She participated in the sport throughout her time in high school and college. However, Cydney’s years as a track athlete came to a stop when college was over.

Cydney decided to devote her full time to bodybuilding after college.

She acknowledges that she initially knew little about consuming a healthy diet and continued to eat fast food with her companions. Yet, this quickly changed.

Cydney fell in love with fitness as she learned more about it and began learning more about these issues. She first learned about figure contests during this period.

She committed to following a strict training and nutrition plan for the ensuing several months to develop her greatest physique yet.

At the age of just 20, Cydney entered her first significant competition, the 2012 NPC Nationals Figure Class. She later won the competition and received her Pro Card as a result.

Training (Workout)

Cydney Gillon

Exercise Mindset

Cydney doesn’t really like many things as much as training. She enjoys seeing her body change and expand as a result of her consistent, hard effort at the gym. She keeps herself relaxed by challenging herself both physically and mentally.

Cydney’s Training Week

Every week, Cydney visits the gym at least three times. She typically divides her workouts as follows:

Back and Chest

Delts (front, middle, and rear)

Legs

Her off-season exercise sessions span about two hours. She intensifies and shortens her training as the competition draws nearer.

Because of her restricted calorie intake during pre-contest, which leaves her body vulnerable to catabolism, Cydney trains less at this time (muscle loss). She compensates for the muscle loss and maintains her physique by working out for shorter periods but harder.

Cydney has always been conscious of her form while she trains. even if doing so requires using lighter weights.

“Pay attention to your body and know what works for you,” is the most important lesson I’ve learned over my years of training. (Cydney Gillon)
