This delicious and playful side dish that resembles fluffy Jello salad could actually be mistaken for dessert! This salad is a delicious addition to any dinner because to its rich, creamy base, an abundance of berries, and of course, Jello.

We adore how Berry Jello Saladeasy is to prepare and how beautiful and tasty it is!

An adorable pink jello salad

Since fluff salads are more like dessert than actual salads, we adore them. This is one of Grandma’s recipe books’ simple but attractively pink recipes.

  • Preparing a Jello fruit salad only takes a few minutes.
  • This is ideal for a potluck because it can be prepared in advance.
  • No cooking is necessary.
  • Fresh berries abound, and it is excellent.
  • An old-fashioned dish that has endured the test of time!

Making a Jell-O Salad

This Jell-o salad is more like fluff than some Jell-o salads, which are created in a jello mold (similar to ambrosia salad). It is creamy, delicious, and rich.

  1. Thoroughly rinse and dry the fruit. If necessary, slice strawberries.
  2. In a sizable mixing basin, combine cottage cheese and jello powder.
  3. Refrigerate after adding the last ingredients.

What’s in Jello Salad?

JELLO: We use strawberry jello, but you may also use raspberry or any other fruity-flavored gelatin. For this recipe, choose a red or pink item.

Cottage cheese is a fantastic addition to this salad and even people who don’t often as it does. Cool whip or cream cheese are acceptable alternatives.

FRUIT: Fresh berries work best in this dish; if you can, use a variety of berries. Sometimes we make a strawberry jello salad with only sliced strawberries.

Variations

  • Try different Jello flavors and fruits like orange, pineapple, or cherries.
  • Add your preferred ingredients, such as chopped bananas or pecans.
  • Want to make this dish a little bit lighter? In this recipe, sugar-free can be used, and low-fat cottage cheese and whipped topping are both options.

Recipe Advice for jello salad:

  • This recipe can be made with any fresh berry. A total of 4 cups of fresh mixed berries are required.
  • Use a hand mixer to blend the cottage cheese slightly to make it smoother before adding it to the jello powder mixture. Using a spoon, combine if you want additional texture.
  • To enable the flavors to meld and thicken the fluff, refrigerate before serving.
  • While it is tasty, it doesn’t set up as well when I test this with freshly whipped cream.
  • Jello salad can be frozen and served frozen in squares (like we do with our Cherry Fluff Salad)

This light jello fruit salad can be eaten for dessert or as a side dish. I enjoy using it as a garnish on angel food cake as well.
