Carrots: How to Roast Them in the Oven?

Carrots may be easily roasted, and this method works for a wide variety of roasted vegetables.

Make carrots: If they are huge, wash, peel (optional; see below), and cut. (Baby or smaller carrots can be consumed whole.)
Season: Combine olive oil, salt, and pepper with the carrots.
Carrots should be placed on a baking sheet and roasted (see recipe below) until browned and soft.
Serve with a parsley garnish (if desired).

Should You Peel Carrots Before Roasting Them? Although it is not necessary, I like to peel my carrots before roasting them.

The carrots look neater after being peeled. If you decide against peeling them, make sure to scrub them with a vegetable brush to remove any dirt or debris before cooking.

Roasting time for carrots

At 425°F, these carrots should bake for around 20 minutes. The finest flavor is achieved by caramelizing the exterior at a high temperature. If the carrots are soft when pierced with a fork, they are done.

Baby carrots are roasted.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of carrots washed, peeled, and cut if large

Baby carrots or young, fresh carrots can be left intact and will take less time. Even if you cut larger store-bought carrots, they may require an additional 10-15 minutes of cooking time.
Larger carrots can be sliced into 1 12″ parts, although the cooking time may be extended.
