Fried rice is a favorite around the world and is likely the most ordered dish or side at any takeout restaurant. After trying it, you won’t want to order it again because the addition of crispy bacon makes it so delicious!

Most recipes use soy sauce alone as their flavor base, however over the years of creating it, I’ve discovered that the BEST flavor combination is created using just four additional ingredients:

  • Oyster sauce
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Butter — YES!

Steps For Making Fried Rice

You don’t need to be afraid to make fried rice. I can do it because it’s so simple! You can prepare it in your house like an expert by following a few easy instructions and using basic ingredients.

To make your bacon extra crispy, first, fry it.

Eggs are scrambled in the same pan. You have the option of putting the eggs directly into the remaining bacon oil or wiping the pan with paper towels first.

Place the eggs on the same platter as the bacon, then create the fried rice for the following five minutes without worrying.

The Components Of Fried rice with bacon

The greatest rice is just a few ingredients away from being made by you!

  • Bacon (you can also use ham if you have any leftovers)
  • Eggs
  • Peanut oil (optional — brings out a delicious authentic Asian flavor and is great for frying at high heat)
  • Veggies: onion, carrots, and peas — you can also add in diced red peppers/capsicum and corn.
  • Garlic — there is a good kick in this recipe that sets it apart. Omit if you don’t like garlic.
  • Rice

Which rice is the best?

However, you don’t necessarily need to have pre-cooked rice in your refrigerator ready to be turned into fried rice. Day-old long grain or Jasmine rice (white or brown) is great.

You have two options for cooking rice: using a stovetop with a ratio of 4 cups water to 2 cups dried rice, or using a rice cooker and following the manufacturer’s instructions.

On one or two big baking sheets, pans, or trays, spread the rice out equally. Loosely cover with a paper towel and chill for 30 minutes.

Put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes, or until cold but not frozen, for an even quicker option!

Why is freshly cooked rice not an option?

Fresh rice does not fry nicely; instead, it becomes sticky and mushy. When you serve it for supper, that’s not what you want.

what should be paired with fried rice?

  • Savory Beef
  • Chicken Teriyaki
  • Pork chops with honed-in garlic
