“I must admit, I am very shy when I have to do my individual routine. It doesn’t matter how many times I compete, I still am very shy. My heart beats 100 times a minute when I look into the crowd. After the show, Arnold pulled me to the side and gave me his thoughts. I was truly amazed by what he had to say.”
Biography of Michael Lockett
Boxing to Bodybuilding Transition

At the NPC Natural Ohio Bodybuilding Classic in the late spring of 2005, Michael, at 22 years old, took his first-ever steps onto the bodybuilding stage. Unexpectedly, the child outperformed his rivals that day, winning the Junior Men’s Category.
Even more astonishingly, Mike passed a rigorous urine drug test conducted after the competition, whereas many sportsmen had failed to do so before him.
A Competitor’s Life
In July 2005, Mike made the trip to Virginia to take part in the NPC Bodyrock contest, where he won.
These first two triumphs, according to Michael, were made possible by the help of his family and friends. They gave him the courage to train for the NPC Team Universe Bodybuilding Championships, one of the most prestigious amateur bodybuilding contests.
After several months of diligent practice, Michael performed at his peak.
He had the advantage over the other competitors thanks to his enormous appearance, remarkable conditioning, and stage presence, earning him both the heavyweight and overall titles during the competition.
Furthermore, Mike’s entry into the IFBB Pro Division was made possible by this triumph.
Later Competitions
Michael decided to step away from the stage for a while after the competition. He returned finely, winning the 2007 NPC Junior Nationals, one and a half years later.
Michael had participated in over 10 tournaments by 2015, including four professional ones.
