Biography

Beginning Your Workout

Growing up, Miha Zupan had no intention of becoming a bodybuilder. Although he claims that competitive motorcycling was one of his earliest loves, he always went to the gym when he wasn’t riding.

Miha claims that after going to the gym, he developed an obsession with the muscles he saw there. Gradually, his attention shifted away from the motorcycle and toward his muscles, and he joined a gym to develop into a bodybuilder.

Creating A Daily Schedule

Miha claims that he first struggled to maintain a bodybuilding routine. As a result, he decided to divide his day into phases, carefully organizing each phase so that he would have no time to skip training.

Miha wakes up and immediately heads to the family business where he works. The gym is conveniently close by, so he visits it in the middle of the morning to work on a specific muscle area.

He then goes back to work for a while before doing his compound lifts-focused second session of the day. He then finishes a lengthy grocery shopping expedition and purchases his supper.

First Place in a Contest

Miha noticed significant improvements in his physique as he started to adhere to this routine more diligently. As a result, he decided to start working out hard in the 2000s to compete.

In 2004, the IBFA World Championships served as his debut competition. Although he was unsure about his placement, he was quite confident in his appearance and had put a lot of effort into his preparation.

He ultimately prevailed in the contest and received the first of many winners’ trophies.

A Professional Bodybuilder’s Guide

After his debut contest in 2004, Miha participated in an additional 12 amateur contests to advance to the point where he could obtain a Pro Card.

Another three of these competitions were won by him, and he finished in the top three in all but one of them.

Miha knew he had learned enough after this fruitful journey to prepare for the pro card. His chance arrived in 2015 when he heard from the IFBB Amateur Mr. Olympia Spain competition about the tournament’s date.

Miha competed with confidence and won first place in the “-100kg” category after working exceptionally hard to show off his muscles in the cutting stage.

The IFBB elevated Miha and awarded him his pro card right away because of his successful track record; typically, athletes must win overall to become professionals.

Training

Giving beginners training advice

Miha thinks that all successful bodybuilders should devote time to mentoring the more inexperienced or less accomplished lifters when it comes to bodybuilding.

Miha’s first piece of advice to those learning the fundamentals is to always utilize the appropriate amount of weight for them.

He complains that he sees too many people at the gym performing exercises with excessive weight and insufficient reps.

Miha emphasizes that when it comes to form, the person should always pay attention to how long the muscle is under strain.

He contends that to effectively break down the muscle, a squeeze after each rep is necessary.

Concerns Regarding Vascularity

Miha has a vascular appearance that many bodybuilders lust after. He claims that he frequently gets inquiries about how to obtain this appearance, but he thinks that the veins that are visible beneath his skin are mostly a genetic trait.

When pressed, he elaborates, saying that they would also need to have “thin skin, full muscles, and no subcutaneous water” (water that is present just below the skin).

Favorite Workout

Miha enjoys his leg days and claims that the squat is his favorite exercise. He claims that he “respects” and “fears” the squat exercise. He enjoys the aspect of discomfort it brings, viewing it as evidence that it is doing its job.

Exercises for the Abdomen

Miha places a lot of emphasis on his ab exercises when getting ready for a presentation. He claims that the process of cutting to display his abs is pretty difficult, therefore he works as hard as he can with crunches and machine exercises.

But more essential for him, he concentrates on using a sound-cutting diet to make his abs apparent.

“The strength you feel tomorrow will come from the pain you suffer now.”

Nutrition

Deciding Against Bulk

His diet includes “high protein, zero carbs, and low fat,” which is what he needs to show off his abs. He claims that he has attempted bulking in the past but has not enjoyed the weight increase.

He thinks that keeping his physique reasonably slender throughout the year is the best course for it.

This makes it simpler to be ready for competitions more quickly, but he claims that in the end, it relies on his physical condition from month to month.

“I increase my carb intake during the off-season, but it all depends on my form.” I frequently make very tiny dietary adjustments based on how I feel and appear over time.

After-Workout Snack

A large post-workout meal is very important to Miha. He shops for all of his meals in his neighborhood and loves to incorporate a variety of lean meats, such as chicken and red meat.

He consumes a whey protein isolate smoothie along with this dinner, which for Miha often consists of potatoes and red meat with vegetables.

Supplements

He views dietary supplements like whey protein isolate as a crucial part of his diet. With a lot of vitamins and amino acids, his stack (below) concentrates on maintaining his body as healthy as possible.

  • Whey isolate
  • BCAA’s
  • Glutamine
  • Creatine
  • Omega 3
  • CLA
  • Multivitamin and minerals
