Biography

Start of Fitness Journey

Phillip Zwoll was born and reared in Hamburg, Germany, and was a scrawny kid growing up. He was among the smallest people in his year when he was a teenager, weighing 58 kg.

As a result, Phillip was frequently the target of verbal abuse and made fun of for having a thin build; in the end, this is what inspired him to join a gym and start his fitness quest.

First Competition

At the age of 17, Phillip signed up for his first gym membership in 2008 to achieve his ideal physique. He spent most of his free time working out, and as a result, he advanced more quickly than his less motivated buddies.

Phillip put a lot of effort into building a strong body over five years, gaining almost 20 kg of lean muscle.

Phillip’s friends persuaded him to participate in his first competition, the 2013 Nordeutschen Championship, in his hometown after being pleased by his physical progress (Hamburg).

Amazingly, the boy won the competition and took the award home. This achievement gave him the motivation he required to pursue his newly discovered dream of being a successful bodybuilder.

Card Pro

Phillip put forth a lot of effort over the following three years to establish himself in the field. He participated in three more shows, winning every competition.

But he didn’t only add trophies to his collection; after winning the 2016 WBFF London, Phillip received the prestigious Pro Card, realizing his dream of becoming a professional athlete.

Training

Four days a week, Phillip Zwoll works out in the gym, dividing his workouts into the upper and lower body.

Due to his belief that his body responds best to this technique, he can now target every region of his body twice a week.

His strength workouts can run up to 90 minutes, while his sessions for building muscle hypertrophy last about 40 minutes.

Exercise Routine

This is how Phillip’s training schedule looks:

  • Monday – Upper Body (6-8 reps, hypertrophy training)`
  • Tuesday – Lower Body (4-6 reps, strength training)
  • Wednesday – Rest
  • Thursday – Upper Body (4-6 reps, strength training)
  • Friday – Lower Body (6-8 reps, hypertrophy training)
  • Saturday – Rest
  • Sunday – Rest

Nutrition

Phillip eats three meals a day, as opposed to the more common five or six, like most bodybuilders. This, in his opinion, is crucial in helping him maintain a physique with less than 8% body fat.

The German bodybuilder enjoys his three-meal strategy because it allows him to eat larger meals while still getting the same number of calories.

To continue building his physique, he constantly monitors his caloric intake.

Diet Program

What Phillip would typically consume is as follows:

  • Breakfast – Egg Omelet with vegetables
  • Lunch – Chicken, Rice, and Vegetables (biggest meal of the day, with 80% of his calories consumed)
  • Dinner – Steak, Rice, and Vegetables

Influences and Idols

His friends were the first people Phillip credited with motivating him to enter bodybuilding competitions.

But as his interest in the fitness profession grew, Phillip Zwoll started to look up to prominent bodybuilders like Ulisses Jr.
