Biography

A Turbulent Upbringing

Rachel Brathen

Rachel Brathen, who was born and reared in Sweden, had a very difficult upbringing. Her parents split up when she was 2 years old. Rachel continued to reside with her mother, who shortly thereafter wed Stefan, a Swedish pilot.

But just as Rachel was getting used to her new father, Stefan died in a plane accident. After that, her life just went downhill faster.

By the time Rachel was ten, her parents had divorced once more and remarried. The young Rachel found this to be too much. She began using drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism for dealing with reality.

Attempts At Suicide

Rachel was in a dark place as a result of her issues. At the age of 13, Rachel claimed that the emotional suffering she was experiencing was so overwhelming that she even attempted suicide.

Thankfully, she was unsuccessful, but she persisted in her heavy drinking, which caused her to nearly pass out multiple times.

These, according to Rachel, were quite humble experiences. Looking back, she claimed that these experiences had increased her appreciation for life.

Meditation And Yoga

At the age of 18, Rachel’s mother persuaded her to attend a yoga and meditation retreat out of concern for her daughter.

Rachel agreed and spent the retreat working through her resentment and other unpleasant feelings. Rachel only needed one yoga session to start feeling considerably better.

Following that, Rachel began going to yoga and meditation workshops once a week. She was able to overcome the negativity that had dogged her for so long by engaging in these routines.

Getting Better

Rachel discovered a novel style of yoga while visiting Costa Rica, and it piqued her interest. It was difficult at first since you couldn’t breathe or perform many of those stances, according to Rachel.

However, she improved in other yoga poses the more she practiced. Rachel’s strength and flexibility both increased as a result of this.

Yoga also helped Rachel, who had previously experienced persistent back discomfort.

These outcomes increased Rachel’s appreciation for her recently developed practice and deepened her enthusiasm for yoga.

A Fresh Start

Rachel quickly got new work as a yoga instructor because of her enthusiasm for the practice.

She also set up web profiles for her yoga. Rachel initially discovered that few individuals were interested in her content or were following her.

It wasn’t until Rachel began to share her personal experience that she began to gain widespread attention. Numerous people were moved by the openness Rachel displayed in her posts. She was extremely popular in yoga and fitness communities as a result.

“People are yearning for authenticity, therefore I don’t think twice about sharing the true stuff. On social media, everyone seems happy, healthy, and 100 pounds heavier. However, nobody’s life truly goes like that, not even Victoria’s Secret model.

From a suicidal adolescent to a successful adult and well-known figure in the yoga world. Everyone who has read Rachel’s amazing story has been moved by it.

Training

Rachel Brathen

Yoga is the cornerstone of Rachel’s training. Every day, she stretches and performs a variety of exercises to increase her flexibility.

Now and again, Rachel also engages in some type of cardio, generally outside. This includes going for walks, going on hikes, playing beach volleyball, and other such pursuits.

Nutrition

Day Of Meals

Rachel Brathen is a staunch vegan who abstains from all animal products and meat.

She begins each day instead with a glass of hot water mixed with lemon. She will then consume green juice made from kale, spinach, apple, and ginger.

Rachel will enjoy a salad bowl with green tea for a mid-morning snack. After that, she’ll eat vegetable soup for lunch. The soup is Rachel’s favorite and is typically cooked with carrots.

She says, “The carrot soup I make is vegan, full of nutrition, really tasty, and incredibly simple to make.”

Rachel will eat vegan sushi for supper, which will include a vegetarian roll, avocado nigiri, edamame, and miso soup. Rachel enjoys making herself a dinner for the next day before going to bed, which she then just reheats for lunch.

Influences And Idols

Her mother encouraged Rachel to practice yoga when she was experiencing a personal crisis. This made a significant improvement in Rachel’s life on all levels.

Fans are another source of inspiration for Rachel. As much as creating and achieving her own goals, Rachel finds inspiration in seeing others flourish.

What Rachel Brathen Can Teach Us?

The sadness and optimism in Rachel’s tale are both presents. Yoga helped Rachel, despite the traumatic upbringing she had, to build a new, more fulfilling life.

Rachel was able to conquer her demons and grow stronger thanks to this activity, meditation, and other fitness routines.

Looking back on her experience, Rachel has imparted to us a potent lesson. “Never lose hope” would be the best way to put it in three words.
