Paul Boyd and Angelyna Martinez have a daughter named Luka Blaise Boyd. Luna’s name means “moon” in Spanish, and it was selected by her mother to honor her Hispanic heritage. Her older brother’s name is not known.

Luna considers herself to be of mixed race: ‘My father is from Glasgow, Scotland, and my mother is from San Antonio, Texas, a second-generation Mexican-American.’ Everything in my life has been colorful, musical, and culturally rich.’ She informed PopSugar.

Luna values her Latino heritage and how it has shaped her life: ‘My cultural background has had a huge effect on shaping who I am, particularly my Mexican side.’ My mother has a brown complexion and is happy to be Latina. Everything she does, from her clothing to her dancing, reflects her strong sense of individuality.’

Blaise is an accomplished dancer who has studied Russian dance since he was a child. There is no information regarding her early education, but it is known that when she was 13 years old, she enrolled in a home-school program that gave her ample time to pursue a career in the entertainment sector.

Career

The First Steps

It’s no surprise that Luna Blaise grew up in the entertainment industry, given her parents’ occupations (her father is a filmmaker and her mother is a manager).

This prompted her to begin modeling at the age of five, starring in ads for well-known corporations such as KFC, Target, and McDonald’s.

Her first film role was in “Vicious” in 2008 when she was just seven years old. Although she only had a cameo in the film, her passion for acting encouraged her to pursue other opportunities, and in 2012 she made her professional acting debut as Nina in the film “Memoria.” The independent film was directed by Vladimir de Fontenay and Nina Ljeti and was based on James Franco’s “Palo Alto” stories from his adolescence.

Regarding her experience in the film at such a young age, 11, Luna told Flaunt that it was the role that launched her career as an actress: ‘It was quite weird. Because I was so young at the time, I didn’t appreciate it enough, but being in a James Franco film is fantastic. While filming it, I realized what acting is all about: representing someone else and bringing them to life. If you see the movie, it’s not at all like me, but that’s what I enjoy about acting.’

The Debut Of A TV Series

Luna Blaise’s first significant TV role was as Nicole in the 2015 series “Fresh Off the Boat.” Despite her early age, Luna thoroughly liked her role in the series, as her character was based on one of her greatest real-life inspirations: ‘My character on “Fresh Off the Boat” is who the crew informed me, and even the writers stated it’s influenced by Jennifer Lopez. So that’s kind of how my character is. On the show, I dress like her. On the show, I play Jenny from “Jenny From the Block.” That’s kind of like my influence, and definitely for music since she’s so stunning.’

Luna Blaise won the Young Artist Awards category for Best Recurring Role in 2016 for her participation in “Right Off the Boat.”

Luna also appears as Jacob Sartorius’ love interest in the music video for his song “Sweetheart” in 2016.

Although this was a nice chance for her as a model, it also prompted reaction on her social media accounts, as fans of the artist wrote critical remarks about her, implying she was in a relationship with him – which was wrong!

Music

Luna Blaise made her singing debut in 2017 with the tune “Over You,” which she wrote. Even though she did not write the lyrics based on personal experiences, she felt it was a song appropriate for youthful love: ‘it’s not simply about a boy you like for two seconds and then you’re over them.’ ‘I’m never going to get over you,’ says the song. So it’s like having a crush, and you’re hopelessly dedicated to them, but you know you’re just going to be friends, which is just OK. That’s kind of what it’s about, as well as going through your “crush” phase.’

Luna’s musical influences include Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Kehlani, and The Beatles, in addition to Jennifer Lopez.

In terms of her musical background, she recalls that her love of music began as a child: ‘I come from a highly musical family.’ I didn’t grow up watching TV; instead, my family and I were always listening to and playing music. For around five years when I was a kid, our dining room was transformed into a rehearsal space, replete with drum kit, guitars, amps, and mics. On weekends, my parents would bring music speakeasies and all their musician friends would come over and simply jam.’

In 2018, Luna released her second single, “Secrets.”

“Manifest”

In 2018, Luna Blaise was cast in her second major part, playing Olive Stone’s character in the sci-fi series “Manifest,” which was highly crucial for her because it offered her tremendous renown and thus more prospects in the entertainment world.

Despite the series’ fictional subject, Luna finds her character in “Manifest” to be “inspiring,” telling The Knockturnal: “What I love about playing Olive is that she’s genuinely real.” The circumstances she’s lived through are unusual, but she has genuine feelings, and you can see the link between her, her father, and her twin brother. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.’

Private Life

Is she in a relationship with a boyfriend or a girlfriend?

Luna Blaise has been romantically associated with Jacob Sartorius, although neither of them has acknowledged the claims, and the relationship has remained professional in public.

Luna Blaise is an LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) ally.

During her time on “Fresh off the Boat,” she also joined GLAAD (Homosexual & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation): “Having the ability to represent a gay kid (in the series) through my character Nicole is such a crucial role for the LGBTQ community.” I’m very thrilled and honored that our showrunner Nanatchka Khan, the show’s outstanding writers, and ABC Network trusted me enough to tell this side of Nicole’s tale.’
