With these simple tips, you can create cream flawlessly every time. Only 3 ingredients make up this light and airy concoction: heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla!
Enjoy this simple whipped cream on top of a warm cup of Irish coffee or a slice of pumpkin pie. Modify it to suit your tastes or a recipe by adding vanilla, almond, or mocha extracts and adjusting the sweetness.
Which Whipped Cream to Apply
The ideal option for preparing cream is heavy cream, also known as heavy whipping cream, which has more than 30% fat. When piped on top of pies or cakes, it will stand up in peaks and maintain its shape for several hours without melting or changing.
If you want stiffer cream, search for the phrase “heavy” on the box as I have discovered that containers labeled just “whipping cream” occasionally have lower milk fat and will produce runnier cream.
How to Make Whipped Cream?
Using a Mixer:
Always begin with a chilly bowl and ice-cold cream. The cream will whisk up more quickly the colder it is. When using an electric mixer, it only takes 2 easy steps to whisk it up quickly.
- Put each ingredient in a separate bowl (see recipe below).
- Stiff peaks should emerge after 5 minutes of mixing on medium.
Be careful if using a stand mixer! If you overbeat the cream, it will quickly transform from fluffy peaks to lumpy butter if you’re not careful.

Not a mixer? No issue!
Without a mixer, you may whip cream by whisking or even shaking it in a jar!
It can take up to 10 minutes or longer to whisk whipped cream by hand, so be sure to stretch those arms and work them hard!
- All components should be put in a cold mixing basin (see recipe below).
- Whip with a wire whisk until the required consistency is achieved.
The youngsters can participate in the straightforward activity of making whipped cream in a jar. As you introduce them to the wonders of food chemistry, pass it around and let each person have a chance.
- Put all the ingredients in a container with a tight lid.
- Shake until frothy and thick.
In order to relieve the vacuum pressure that will develop as bubbles form, be sure to sometimes unscrew the lid.
