The following year, she participated in her first national competition and finished sixth overall. Following this, Katie took her first off-season, during which she worked arduously to strengthen her physique in preparation for the upcoming season.
She began practicing for the Arnold Classic Amateur, which was scheduled for March 2014, a few months later. In the end, Katie’s off-season work paid off as she finished fourth out of 52 competitors in the show. Here is more from Katie regarding the occasion:
The top 5 finishes among the best international athletes at this, my biggest event, demonstrated to me that I am capable of competing against the best of the best.
She Obtains A Pro Card
Katie participated in her first Junior Nationals competition in 2015. Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out the way Katie had intended; she came in 13th.
She refused to accept defeat and gave a significantly stronger performance at the Nationals in New York a month later, finishing in fifth place.
To break into the IFBB Pro League, Katie worked harder than ever in the rest of 2015 to rebuild, improve, and remodel her physique.
Then, in 2016, she competed in the USA Junior Championships and finished in second place, just missing out on a pro card. Despite this, Katie bounced back four weeks later to win the Nationals in Chicago and earn her Pro Card.
