The hot and sticky chicken wings are a classic for movie night or game day!

A favorite among guests, these Chicken Wings are oozing with hot sauce made with zesty garlic. Bring out the napkins; this is finger-licking good and sticky wonderful!

In my opinion, chicken wings are a need. And without a side of celery and blue cheese or buttermilk ranch dressing to balance things out, a serving of spicy sauce just isn’t the same!

Why Sticky Wings Are So Adorable

For every party or sporting event, chicken wings make for the ideal finger food!

  • They have the ideal amount of heat and are sweet and sticky.
  • In the oven or air fryer, they cook up nice and juicy, saucy, and deliciously crispy—a deep fryer is not necessary!
  • One of those dishes with little preparation time but lots of flavors is this one.

CHICKEN WINGS I use split, fresh wings with the tips cut off. Before coating and cooking your wings, dab them dry if they are frozen.

COATING The coating on these wings is made by combining a small amount of flour, salt, pepper, and baking powder. The key to a crispy chicken wing is baking powder, so be sure to use it!

SAUCE Use any hot sauce you choose in this recipe (we adore Lingham’s Ginger Hot Sauce). Add some soy sauce and honey for a sticky sweetness.

Make Crispy Chicken Wings at Home

  1. Cook sauce ingredients & set aside.
  2. Chicken wings are dredged in the dry mixture.
  3. Bake (as directed in the recipe below), rotating halfway.
  4. Put prepared garlic spicy sauce on the wings and bake them again until crispy.

PRO HINT: The secret to these wings’ incredible crispiness is baking powder! Be sure to use powder rather than soda!

Reheating Chicken Wings

I don’t advise warming in the microwave because you don’t want these juicy little morsels to become mushy.

Spread out on a baking sheet coated with paper, and cook at 375°F only until heated. The chicken wings should not begin to actually cook again because they will become rubbery. Should only take ten to fifteen minutes!

Alternately, place them in the Air Fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes, shake the basket, and fry for an additional 5 minutes, or until thoroughly heated.

  1. Set the oven to 425 °F. Using parchment paper, line a sizable baking pan.
  2. In a small pan, combine all the sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 3–4 minutes, or until just slightly thickened.
  3. After rinsing, blot the wings dry with a paper towel. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper, and toss. On the preheated pan, spread out. After 15 minutes of baking, turn the pan over.
  4. After removing the wings from the oven, lay them in a big bowl and add the sauce. Reposition on the baking sheet and raise the oven temperature to 450°F. Bake for a further 10 to 15 minutes, or until the sauce is golden and thick.
  5. 4-6 minutes to cool before serving.

Notes

For up to three days, keep leftover wings in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

Reheat in the oven or air fryer until thoroughly heated, then broil for one to two minutes to restore the crispness.
