Biography
Short Career Of Rebecca Voigt Miller
Rebecca Voigt Miller played basketball in college and has always had a passion for exercise. Rebecca found CrossFit in 2008 and was immediately drawn to it due to her competitive personality.
CrossFit was only a young sport at the time, and the CrossFit Games category had just begun to take off. The Games were intended to be a competition with athletes competing against one another from throughout America.
Rebecca was interested in competing as an athlete because of what the competition had to offer. In the end, she was among the first athletes to register for the competition in 2008. Rebekah stated;
“In 2008, I participated in the CrossFit Games for the first time. I thought The Ranch in Aromas was the Woodstock of fitness.
On the slope, we huddled together and played in the mud. Loud music was playing. There was also camping there. Becky Voigt Miller
Developing A “Competition Addiction”
Only 70 participants signed up to compete when the CrossFit Games were first promoted as a competition. But in just a few months, the number of competitors had risen to almost 300. Rebecca Voigt Miller was a single one among them.
The first CF Games then began in earnest at the Ranch near Aromas, California, during the summer of 2008. 300 athletes, cheered on by nearly 800 spectators on the hillside, including Rebecca.
There were four primary events in the tournament, with Fran – chest-to-bar pull-ups being one of the hardest. Rebecca writes the following about her first Fran workout: ”
At the time, it was such a daunting workout. There were many chest-to-bar pull-ups. I doubt that I had previously completed that many. There was blood all over the place after I tore my hands.
Rebecca finished the Games in seventh place despite self-inflicted injuries, and she became “hooked” on CrossFit after that.
“It was a lot of fun. It appeared to be a team event due to the athletes’ camaraderie. The event sparked something within me. After that, I wanted to compete more,” Rebecca remarked.
Getting Over Injuries
Rebecca started getting ready for the 2009 event after the 2008 CF Games. She was hampered in the procedure though by her wounds.
Rebecca sustained several injuries during her practice and competition that necessitated operations. She was forced to temporarily halt training as a result, endangering her chance of competing in the 2009 CF Games.
I’ve had surgeries before, but this was my first as a CrossFitter, so this was a test for me, the woman stated. I had to prove to myself that I was still capable of hanging with the girls after surgery.
Rebecca, fortunately, recovered quickly enough to compete in the 2009 Games, but she wasn’t completely prepared.
The 2009 CF Games featured eight events over two days, making them even more challenging than the competitions from prior years.
As a result, Rebecca placed 20th overall in the competition. “This was my lowest finish at the Aromas Games,” she stated.

A Profound Return
Rebecca participated in the CrossFit Games once more in 2010. But this time, she wasn’t worried about the wounds or setbacks, which allowed her to give her best effort.
The Home Depot Center in California replaced The Ranch in Aromas as the host venue for the 2010 CF Games. Before competing in the main event, all competitors, including Rebecca, had to compete in two regional qualifying events.
We were all reflecting on how far we had gone since The Ranch over the entire weekend. However, looking back, it was still so little.
Rebecca broke all of her prior Games records while competing in a massive 6,000-seat tennis stadium. She finished second in three competitions and won five of them. She came in seventh overall on that particular day.
CrossFit household Game Development
Rebecca Voigt Miller continued to go up the CrossFit competitive ladder over the years. Her best performance of her career came in 2011 when she finished third overall at the CF Games.
She was perhaps the most dependable athlete to ever represent the sport at the end of 2018 when she was one of the most seasoned CrossFit veterans in the world.
