“As a child I loved watching action movies with Arnie or Stallone! Their characters in films such as Commando & Rocky definitely inspired me!
I started hitting the gym around the age of 16, my dad was a manager at a local leisure centre, and so I was able to get free access to the gym! At school I was one of the first boys to start lifting and it didn’t take long until I was fully hooked!”
Biography
First workout
Joel’s local gym, where his father taught tennis, sparked his interest in physical training. At the age of 15, he began working out; he found it to be so enjoyable that he treated it as a second home. His father encouraged him to play tennis, but he preferred the gym.
Joel Corry earned the nickname “the guy with the six-pack” in high school. This inspired him to keep working out and show his classmates that he could sculpt an amazing physique, and it worked.
Joel drew inspiration from several action figures, like Stallone and Arnold. He developed his own “action hero body” with the aid of these well-known figures.
Joel was hired by MTV immediately after graduating from college, and he quickly appeared on the hit British program Geordie Shore.
This prompted him to receive inquiries from fitness sponsors.
“I loved being known as the one who would go to the gym, I finished university, and I managed to obtain a job with MTV.
I was one of the first in my year at school to go to the gym and I was the first one with a 6-pack. Due to my appearance on Geordie Shore, sponsors have contacted me.
Concluding Contracts
James Kenzie, a member of the 10-piece UK hip-hop group Blazin’ Squad, introduced him to an Optimum Nutrition athlete manager. According to Joel, “it all happened so swiftly.” The agreement was signed the same evening, and the rest is history.
He knew now was the moment to start competing because he was in excellent shape. Joel enlisted the aid of reputable trainer Jamie Do Rego and started getting ready for the competition.
His perseverance soon paid off, and he went on to win the Miami Pro before competing in pure Elite and finishing in the top three in the WBFF.
Obtaining Balance
For Joel, juggling a full-time job with his work as a bodybuilder competitor and fitness model wasn’t simple. He worked as a DJ at night, so when it came time to prepare for a competition or photo shoot, he had to scale back.
In the beginning, marine biology was what inspired him rather than just exercise and music. He loved diving and wanted to be a deep sea diver, but he was more preoccupied with his other two interests, thus it never occurred.
Card Pro
Joel Corry developed an amazing physique in 2016. His performance in the 2016 WBFF Miami Pro was his finest accomplishment to date.
He triumphantly transitioned into the world of professional bodybuilding by leaving this competition with his Pro Card.
“DJing is still my primary occupation; being an athlete is more of a hobby for me. I have to juggle it with my DJing. DJing will take a back seat unless I am in a prep.
Everybody despises cardio. Stop there. Do they not? I use my home treadmill for 30 minutes three mornings a week. I did, however, drink coffee first.
Training
Joel remembers practicing every day for up to three hours at a time in the weeks leading up to competition preparation.
His workouts were long, arduous, and punishing. Along with these grueling gym sessions, Joel would get up early to do fast cardio, which helped him get in excellent shape.
“Fasted cardio requires getting out of bed before breakfast to work out, and I did it four or five days a week. I would exercise for 30 minutes in the morning with high-intensity interval training (HIIT).
That entails a continuous 30-minute sprint of one minute and a stroll of two minutes. I would just need BCAAs because you are catabolic in the morning to inhibit muscle breakdown. Before eating, is when fat is burned the most efficiently.
Joel’s Exercise Program
- Monday – Chest and triceps and a 15-minute ab workout
- Tuesday – Back and biceps and a 15-minute calf or ab workout
- Wednesday – Leg day
- Thursday – Shoulders, 15-minute ab session
- Friday – Arms
- Saturday – Rest day
- Sunday – Legs + Cheat meal
Joel’s legs were his weakest area, but he can now boast that he turned them into iron rods. But it wasn’t simple; it required hours of agonizing exercise in the gym. Here is Joel discussing his exercise regimen;
“I trained my legs twice a week for up to three hours each time during the preparation for my competition. I was particularly focused on bringing my legs up to the level necessary to win my competitions because they were my weakest region.
These painful treatments were effective, though! On stage, my legs were in charge; I had turned my weakest part into a strength.

Crossing the cable. It works wonders for the chest, in my opinion. When I can see your ripped chest, I love it. The best exercise for understanding the definition is this one. You can get the entire stretch with lots of reps with light weight.
Joel’s Exercise
Although he isn’t a huge fan of cardio, he understands the value of including it in his training to maintain a low body fat level. Three mornings per week, he will exercise on his treadmill at home.
“I don’t go crazy on the supplements, I try and keep it to a minimum.”
Nutrition
The diet of Joel Corry is straightforward yet accurate. To stay lean and energized throughout the day, he prefers to focus on eating six smaller meals per day as opposed to three larger ones. Here is an illustration of his typical diet for tournaments.

Influences and Idols
In addition to having a sporting father, Joel received encouragement from his high school friends because he was known as “the fit person” there.
This early motivation drove him even harder. But Joel is also a self-driven individual who enjoys setting objectives and achieving them. Here is Joel discussing his motivations and reasons;
“I’m a person who is very motivated by myself. I suppose what motivates me is my desire to succeed. My inner drive is what drives me.
I am continuously moving and never sit still because I want to keep becoming better. I am never satisfied and always want to improve.
