The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton has her own personal chefs.
That’s a luxury. But do you know that she cannot have potatoes, rice, or pasta? What is the reason for this ban on her food choices?
Kate Middleton and her food ban
The current Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton is talented and gorgeous. She lives a royal life full of luxuries. She has ample staff attending to her needs and also chefs to take care of her food and diet.
She can have foods of her choice but there are some limitations. There are some food items that cannot make an entry of her diet menu. And these are starchy foods such as pasta, rice, an d potatoes.
The former royal chef Darren McGrady revealed:
“No potatoes, rice or pasta for dinner,”
He provided this info to The Telegraph UK. This rule came in because the Queen does not like carbohydrates in her food. Hence the chefs avoid cooking them for her and the family.
Kate and pasta
Though chef Darren stated that Kate cannot have starch-rich foods in her diet, there are other reports that said that the Duchess had cooked pasta at home in 2020 for her daughter Charlotte’s birthday.
Kate is fond of this Italian delicacy. Maybe, she is allowed to have them only on occasions and not daily. It might also be that Kate herself has decided to limit her carbs intake in order to avoid putting on a lot of weight.
She is figure conscious and has managed to maintain her weight over the years. Even after three pregnancies and deliveries, Kate has been in shape and looks slim and fit.
There are also reports that royals of England avoid taking shellfish. This is because of the high likelihood of poisoning due to this seafood.
Kate’s daily diet
Kate has a healthy lifestyle. Despite her busy work schedules, she manages to give time to herself. She eats healthy. For her breakfast, she has oatmeal.
This is protein and fiber rich and aids in lowering the bad cholesterol in the body. It improves gut health and helps keep blood sugar under control. Kate also goes for a smoothie drink.
This is made of kale, spinach, romaine, spirulina (a type of algae), and blueberries and is loaded with major vitamins and minerals.
For lunch, Kate has raw ingredients. She prefers salad made of watermelon with cucumbers, onions, avocado, and feta cheese.
She sticks to vegetarian meal at lunchtime though she is not a vegetarian. She also likes to have vegetable kebabs and lentil curry at lunch.
For snacks, she likes fruits such as goji berries. This is a healthy practice. She avoids chips and fried foods. But she does like popcorn and olives.
And during dinner, Kate eats more heavily. Katie Nicholl, a royal correspondent, wrote in Vanity Fair profile on the couple in 2012:
“In the evenings she indulges her hobby of cooking William’s favorite supper, roast chicken,”
She involves her kids in cooking pizzas and pastas at home. She relishes sushi in restaurants outside the palace. Darren had revealed on an earlier occasion that Kate loves sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
