Making chocolate croissant dough the old-fashioned way takes time but is enjoyable.

Everyone should give it a try at some point, but it most definitely does not meet our definition of an easy dish. We adore this dish because of this.

Thanks to store-bought puff pastry, you can make flaky, homemade chocolate croissants without spending extra time or effort. Everyone will adore them.

We bought the puff pastry dough from Pepperidge Farm. You’ve probably seen their products in your local grocery store.

Simply make a rectangle out of the puff pastry and cut it into triangles.

After that, place your preferred chocolate in the center and roll it up. You may also experiment by making almond croissants with marzipan and sliced almonds, jam, or even ham and cheese for a savory version.

These tiny croissants sell out quickly and are ideal for breakfasts, gatherings, or your upcoming coffee break. Make a number, put them in a basket, and watch them disappear.

It’s straightforward to create these little croissants. We don’t make our croissant dough at home; instead, we use a puff pastry sheet from the shop.

Before utilizing, the puff pastry sheet needs to thaw. To thaw at room temperature for 40 to 50 minutes, either place in the refrigerator and leave overnight. The croissants may be made only 30 minutes after the puff pastry has been thawed.

Leave them simple or fill them with your preferred filling, such as chocolate. Make these little croissants with the expectation that each person will consume two.

YOU WILL NEED

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 of a 17.3-ounce package of Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets (1 sheet), thawed
  • 2/3 cup (113 grams) semi-sweet chocolate chips or small chocolate chunks

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees C). Use parchment paper or a non-stick baking mat to line two baking sheets.
  2. With a fork or whisk, combine the egg and water in a small bowl, and put aside.
  3. Flour your work surface just a little. The pastry sheet should be unfolded and then lightly dusted with flour. Roll the material into a 16-inch square using a rolling pin. Slice each half of the pastry square into four rectangles (making eight, 8-inch by 4-inch rectangles). Now, diagonally cut each rectangle into two triangles (making 16 triangles).
  4. Each triangle should have two teaspoons of chocolate chips in the center. Then, roll each triangle up beginning at the broader end. Each croissant should be placed seam-side down with the triangle’s point tucked under the rolled croissant. The edges should then be bent inward to form a crescent. Egg wash the croissants’ tops lightly. Step 1 of the Sinfully Simple Chocolate Croissants Recipe
