Short Career of Alex Woodson
Before the invention of the internet, Alex Woodson would study every page of magazines to understand the finest exercises for building muscle.
It wasn’t until Alex attended his first high school gym class that he utilized weights. Alex had a clear idea of what he wanted out of life at that very moment.

Biography
Starting a Bodybuilding Career
When Alex Woodson was younger, he would watch TV and declare, “I want to look like that.” When he was too young to enter a gym, he first began exercising through morning TV shows.
He had grown increasingly passionate about health by the time he was a teenager. In a high school gym class, he handled his first set of weights, which sparked Alex’s interest in learning more.
He became addicted at that point and didn’t look back. He was well on his way to becoming the Pro Figure Competitor we know him as today after purchasing a few magazines for advice.
“From that moment I was hooked and started to get every new issue of muscle magazines back then (1988) to learn the exercises from the bodybuilders in the magazines.
Remember, this was at a time when there was no internet yet, so we only had the magazines to learn from.”
Competition Background
Since starting to compete in 2014, Alex has established himself as one of the top figure models in the world.
His first competition was the Men’s Physique in the 2014 NPC Minnesota Gopher State Classic, where he finished first overall.
Alex won first place in the Masters Class A division in his second competition, the 2014 NPC North American Nationals in Pittsburgh, where he received his IFBB Pro Card.
In his third tournament, Alex placed third in the Master’s division and sixteenth in the Open division in the 2015 IFBB Tampa Pro.
He kept competing in 2015 and 2016 and showed tremendous talent for demonstrating that he was among the best.
Alex Woodson consistently finishes in the top 5 in his performances, and he keeps getting ready for upcoming competitions shortly. He doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
Training
To keep his amazing figure, Alex prefers to build his body using conventional methods and workout regimens including supersets, powerlifting, and cardio.
He will use very heavy weights and perform between 10 and 20 repetitions with a rigorous and regulated pace during his muscle-building phase to ensure that he exercises the muscle properly.

Nutrition
Keeping Slim
For his nutrition, Alex attempts to maintain a clean lifestyle for the majority of the year. This helps him maintain a competitive edge and makes it much simpler for him to shed a few more pounds when necessary.
During the week, he maintains a pretty healthy diet, but on the weekends, he will allow himself a few cheat meals.
However, the majority of his diet will be made up of entire foods, such as chicken, lean ground beef, and white fish, as well as rice, potatoes, oats, and a variety of vegetables.
Here is Alex discussing his diet and his preferred treats:
“In my off-season, I strive to maintain a healthy weight so that I don’t have to lose a lot of weight when I cut for a show. I follow a fairly healthy diet during the week (Monday – Friday evening).
On the weekends, if I want to, I’m allowed to stray from my diet for a couple of meals. I eat a lot of whole foods, including chicken, lean ground beef, white fish, rice, potatoes, oats, and various vegetables.
Though I do enjoy eating sweets, I will choose doughnuts, ice cream, and other favorites if I feel deserving.
Contest Prep
When a competition is coming up, Alex will give himself plenty of time to get to the low body fat percentages he needs to be at on contest day. Usually, this involves a general reduction in calories or a cutback on particular foods.
As the tournament draws nearer, Alex will consult with his coach and make adjustments to ensure everything goes according to plan.
“My coach and I will tighten things up more and more as the weeks and months leading up to the show progress, depending on how I look. When I get ready for a show, I usually try to be a couple of weeks ahead of schedule.
When I initially started competing, I wanted to be in the best shape of my life and see how well I could do in a show.
Influences and Idols
Alex gets a lot of his inspiration and drives from the outcomes of his training and competitions. His inner motivation and competitive mentality are what propel him forward to consistently build a great physique.
His inspiration for others to have healthy, active lives also serves as an incentive.
He’s even more driven to assist as many individuals as he can in achieving their ideal physique now that he’s established himself as a major player in the fitness industry.

“I receive inspiration from older or younger males to show them that we can still get in excellent condition if we have the discipline and ambition to do so.
Finally, now that I have gained some recognition on social media over the past year, I’m inspired to continue motivating individuals from all walks of life to work hard for the body they want and to help others along the way.

Alex Woodson had a strong desire to stay healthy and fit, but it wasn’t until he had access to weights in high school that he truly discovered his calling.
Before the internet was invented, he managed to sate his interest in exercise and health by learning from periodicals and practicing in front of the TV and anywhere else he could.
After going through a period of being overweight and adopting a lifelong commitment to training, health, and fitness, Alex realized it was time to take action and show himself that he could build a ripped body.
He achieved his objectives, but it took time and the appropriate mindset. Alex’s journey is an inspiration to everyone in the world who has the same mindset and desire for health.
