Career

Early years and Instagram modeling

Since 2015, Delphine has had an Instagram account.

She opened a YouTube account in July 2016.

She posted her debut video, a makeup instructional, the following month. In 2018, Delphine started posting images of her modeling on Instagram daily, faking a “strange elf kitty girl” look with the aid of pink wigs, thigh-high stockings, and cat ears.

[8] She also frequently created content for cosplay, featuring characters like Harley Quinn and D.Va. Delphine opened a Patreon page in March 2018 where patrons could access her “lewd” photo collections. She posted a second YouTube video in September that gave viewers a tour of her room. [14] Her aesthetic in the second video, which Rolling Stone referred to as an “alien Disney princess porn star,” is more in keeping with the one she ultimately adopted throughout her ascent to fame.

The fall of 2018 saw a notable rise in Delphine’s popularity. As a result of her participation in the platform’s challenges and trends, she “soon soared to the top of the ‘For You page on TikTok.”  Following this, users of 4chan and Reddit shared images of Delphine and lauded her “ironic approach to online trotting” as “genius” and “great performance art.” [1] In July 2019, Delphine has 4.2 million Instagram followers, up from 850,000 in November 2018.  Ahegao’s facial expressions, which are exaggerated expressions typically used in adult anime to denote an orgasm, started to appear noticeably and regularly in her content. According to Complex, she “uploaded videos of herself coyly devouring a whole raw egg. When scrolling through her Instagram, one can see pictures of her having fun with a dead octopus just as easily as vibrant thirst traps.”

Delphine gained notoriety as a result of the uproar her writing generated. Indigo White, a maker of pornographic content, said that Delphine had impersonated other sex workers while young in January 2019. In a video released in February, Delphine danced while carrying a gun while singing a song about suicide. Soon after it was published, unfounded reports of her demise spread online.

Pornhub account and GamerGirl Bath Water stunts

Delphine posted a promise on Instagram in June 2019 that if the post received one million likes, she would open a Pornhub account.

[20] In response, Pornhub referred to the piece as “the finest news.” After receiving over 1.8 million likes in a short period, Delphine made a Pornhub account and published 12 films there as promised. All of the videos were presented with deceptive thumbnails and titles that were not sexually explicit. The low like-to-dislike ratios for each of the videos ranged from 66% to 77% dislikes. According to a statistics study from Pornhub Insights, Delphine’s films received the most negative feedback in the site’s history. One of the videos depicted “a cat-ear-clad Delphine swallowing a photo of YouTuber PewDiePie, winking throughout,” and was labeled “PEWDIEPIE gets INSIDE Belle Delphine.” [20] PewDiePie responded to the video with a similarly humorous comment. Delphine received the Top Celebrity Pornhub Award later in the year. Delphine was identified as the most looked-for celebrity in Pornhub’s annual statistics report released in December. “Belle Delphine” ranked as the fourth most often searched phrase on the website overall in 2019.

Delphine opened her online shop on July 1st, 2019 with a product called “GamerGirl Bath Water.”

The $30 (£24) item was advertised as the remnants of her bath water in a jar. [28] Delphine claimed that her bath water was the inspiration for the product after fans repeatedly commented on her images that they would drink her bath water.  The product came with a warning label that read, “This water is unfit for drinking and should only be used for sentimental purposes,” added Delphine. In just three days, the initial batch of bath water was sold out.  The product sparked debate, media attention, and online jokes. A website selling “GamerGirl Pee” for well under $10,000 was established two days after the bath water product sold out in an attempt to cash in on its popularity; it was later revealed that this was unrelated to Delphine. A now-banned Twitter user named @BakeRises made up a bogus headline that claimed Delphine’s product was to blame for a herpes outbreakYouTube video reactions with people allegedly consuming, preparing, and vaping bath water also appeared.

The reaction to Delphine’s gamer girl bath water scam, according to EJ Dickson of Rolling Stone, fluctuated between “deriding Delphine’s admirers for their naivete and praising her for her marketing prowess.”

According to Katie Bishop’s article for The Guardian, the transaction was “widely derided.” [33] According to Patricia Hernandez of Polygon “What makes Delphine’s side business intriguing is that it appears to be a blend of business and cutting-edge performance art. She calls this a ruse in the bathwater advertisement video. Delphine’s art is characterized by her willingness to venture there if you look at her larger Instagram body of work.”

Delphine was interviewed by The Guardian in response to her newfound visibility, and she said “I’m blessed. There is a delight in being able to do crazy things and seeing how the rest of the world responds, even if it is occasionally a little frightening. My stranger content draws more attention, but I believe that’s only feasible since I also create obscene content “. Added to her “It’s been fantastic and enjoyable, but it’s time to move on to new endeavors. I keep a journal with all kinds of wacky ideas next to my bed. I’m not sure what will surpass this, but I’m interested in what will happen next “.

Ban on Instagram accounts and social media break

Delphine’s Instagram account was blocked on July 19, 2019.

An Instagram representative said that her account had broken community rules, yet no specific post or justification was given.

According to Business Insider and Social Blade, the “belle. delphine” account had more than 4.5 million followers at the time of the shutdown. There “seemed to be a coordinated attempt to report Delphine’s account,” according to Business Insider.

Delphine kept up with her Twitter and Patreon accounts. Her Patreon page once had over 4,400 subscribers. According to Polygon, “at least one man” paid $2,500 for a private Skype conversation with Delphine. [28] Many Patreon backers thought they were being conned out of previously promised new content when Delphine stopped being active on her social media sites in late August, according to one report.

On October 7, 2019, Delphine shared a picture of her arrest record along with the information.

Although there was no outside evidence of an arrest made by the Metropolitan Police or any other agency, the image had a “Metropolitan Police Service” watermark. Delphine subsequently claimed that after her pet hamster was taken from her at a party, she vandalized the other person’s car in vengeance, which led to her imprisonment. The Met Police said they were “unable to divulge any information” about the arrest because of the Data Protection Act, while online newspapers and users questioned the veracity of her accusations. In November 2019, Delphine published her fourth YouTube video before taking a vacation.
