Gareth Bale and his retirement announcement
Welsh footballer, Gareth Bale is 33 years old now. He announced on his social media that he would retire from professional play. He has a glittering career behind him.
The former Tottenham and Real Madrid player made the important announcement on his social media and revealed that he will exit from both international and club game. On 9-1-23, he wrote:
“After careful and thoughtful consideration, I announce my immediate retirement from club and international football. I feel incredibly fortunate to have realised my dream of playing the sport I love. It has truly given me some of the best moments of my life.”
He continued:
“The highest of highs over 17 seasons, that will be impossible to replicate, no matter what the next chapter has in store for me. From my very first touch at Southampton to my last with LAFC and everything in between, shaped a club career that I have an immense pride and gratitude for.”
Gareth thanked all his former managers, coaches, backroom staff, teammates, his dedicated fans, his agents, and friends and family. He expressed his love for his parents, sister, wife and kids.
Gareth and his career
Bale began playing at Southampton as a left-back. Later, he entered into the attack field. He was with the Tottenham team for 6 years. Here, he was amongst the Premier League’s top players.
Later, he moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2013 and won the Champions League on five occasions with the club. Thus, he was the most decorated British players in its history.
Gareth was with the MLS side Los Angeles FC. And here, in 2022 he won the Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup.
Internationally, Gareth played for Wales with a record of 111 appearances. Furthermore, he managed to do 41 goals which was a record for Wales. Also, he played for Wales at three major tournaments. In 2022, he assisted the nation to reach the finals of the World Cup for the first time after 64 years.
But Gareth could not recreate the in Qatar and after 17 years of the game, he has decided to retire.
Gareth and his diet
Gareth has a towering height of 6 ft 2 and inch es with a weight of around 75 to 78 kg. His chest is 42-43 inches while he has a waist of 32 inches and biceps size of 14 inches.
He eats healthily to maintain his physique. Surprisingly, he is on a vegan diet but does manage to eat adequate proteins. This he obtains from consumption of beans, lentils, walnuts, brown rice, and oatmeal. Gareth consumes no meat, eggs,milk or milk products.
The athletic star also loves a lot of vegetables and his favorite before-game food is beans on toast. Here is a sample of his diet plan
