The famous American actor, Channing Tatum is a heartthrob. His body and charm swoon many and so does his acting skills and talent. He has played great roles in movies and these include in Step Up, The Lost City and the Magic Mike’s Last Dance. The latter which was the third release of the Magic Mike series released in February 2023. In it, most of the time, he is shirtless. One can appreciate his physicality.
But one also wonders how he manages to maintain such a body and fitness level. What does he do to achieve and retain it? What are his diet and exercise secrets leading to it?
Channing’s diet secrets
Channing had revealed last year that his journey to bodily transform for his various roles has not been an easy one. He was on the show Kelly Clarkson Show in February 2022. At that time, he was promoting his movie, Dog. And on the show, he also mentioned that he was shooting for Magic Mike 3 and his role was that of Mike Lane. Kelly was impressed by his shirtless image for the movie. At that time, Channing revealed:
“Trust me. That might be the reason I didn’t want to do a third one is because I have to look like that,”
“Even if you do workout, to be that kind of in shape is not natural,”
He had to eat in an unhealthy way for that chiseled body. He said:
“That’s not even healthy—you have to starve yourself,”
Channing added:
“I don’t know how people who work a 9-to-5 actually stay in shape because it’s my full-time job and I can barely do it,”
“You work out twice a day. You have to eat completely right at a certain time.”
More details of his diet
In 2021, the Australian Men’s Health published an article that stated that he eats every two hours to get the energy as well as to build his lean mass. William J. Harris, his personal trainer from New York had said in it:
“We swapped the unhealthy ingredients in the food Channing likes for healthy ones—we gave him lean turkey rather than beef, for example, and swapped takeaway pizzas for homemade whole wheat ones topped with organic veggies,”
“Processed and frozen foods, salt, sugar and alcohol were all no-nos.”

In People magazine in 2012, there was an article that said that Channing went dairy and gluten free to transform his body for Magic Mike 1. He had stuck to the strict ordered diet. Because even in 2014, instead of ordering a crab while on a lunch with Esquire reporter, Tom Chiarella at Crab Shack in Georgia, Channing ordered skinless chicken breast and not crab. He had said:
“I would like to join you,”
“I would like a beer. I would like to have some crab. I love eating. But this is what I’m doing right now.”
