Fast food restaurants do not usually offer healthy food options. But they are not something that can be banned because of the delicious taste. Also, not everything there is unhealthy. These eateries do have some healthy food options. Here are the top 3 healthiest fast good meals, according to dietitian Jay Cowin from ASYSTEM.
Fast foods and the health factor
Fast foods are a liking of most people in the world. They can be had at breakfast, lunch or dinner or even as snacks. They have happy meal options. Most of these are affordable foods and on the go type of food dishes. There is less mess created and they are convenient too. Moreover, they are awfully delicious.
But most of these foods are not healthy. They can lead to overweight, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Their excess fats can cause high blood bad cholesterol and lead to atherosclerosis and ischemia of the heart. They can cause stroke and early death. Their high sugar content could lead to type 2 diabetes and worsening of the condition. They induce body inflammation and raise risk of cancer. But there are some healthy options you can choose, nutritionist Jay Cowin reveals.

There are two beef patties in this burger along with two slices of cheese and two slices of tomatoes. Moreover, it has onions and spread too. This is rich in protein, is healthy and fills the stomach. But the down side, he says:
“The only downside is that it can be a little messy to eat!”

This is available at Taco Bell. Health-conscious consumers order it. But one should order them with no beans or rice. Jay explains:
“You’ll still be left with a filling lunch option consisting of chicken, shredded cheese, guacamole, lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, and an avocado-ranch sauce,”
“This is the second item on the list because it’s pretty balanced in terms of macros, low in calories, and it’s a quick and easy meal option when I’m on the go,”
Half-serving of Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad
Top on this list is the Half-serving of Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad from Wendy’s. Jay discloses:
“A half-serving of Wendy’s Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad only has 9g of carbs and 300 calories—dressing included!”
