Biography

Young Years

Allison was raised in the New Brunswick city of Moncton after being born in Nova Scotia, Canada. She was always trying to climb trees and walls as a child because she was so energetic.

She loves to climb, so her mother enrolled her in a gymnastics class. She enjoyed studying the acrobatic moves in this class so much that she decided to implement what she had learned by joining the high school cheerleading squad.

Sporting excellence led to Allison’s recruitment by the University of Western Ontario. She enthusiastically supported the football squad of the Mustangs.

Getting a Teaching Job

Allison finished her Bachelor of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island after returning from college. She was able to teach math, physics, and ethics at a local high school because of her degree.

In the end, she decided that this was not the career for her. She had witnessed fitness events while cheerleading throughout her first degree and knew that one day she would make this her career.

Starting A Career In Fitness

She thought about pursuing this career after a few sloppy weeks that, according to Allison, “grew into months,” but she didn’t go to the gym at all.

She eventually concluded that she couldn’t wait any longer and promised herself that she would compete and become in shape.

Allison started reading a book on bodybuilding nutrition and learning more about the rules and regulations of fitness competitions.

She also purchased and read the top fitness publications of the day to apply what she had learned to her everyday life.

Her First Competition Success

Allison discovered the locations of the nearby events and entered them after putting in months of arduous work to develop a toned figure.

In 1999, she debuted on “Miss Fitness New Brunswick.” Although she was the only female in her category posing, it was a wonderful first experience for her.

She eventually took home the prize and met the author of Musclemag’s “Canadian Corner” feature. She was surprised to learn that he immediately wrote an article on her after the show, making her the first person in her career to be featured in a prominent publication.

A Successful Career Launch
Allison finished in the top three in more CBFF Amateur competitions after this concert. She eventually won her Pro Card in the 2009 North American Championships in Ohio after a protracted period of preparation.

Allison posed at the IFBB Atlantic City Fitness Pro contest two weeks after her incredible accomplishment, finishing in the top 10.

Effective Streak

Allison was invited to several high-profile tournaments where she excelled after earning her IFBB pro card.

Additionally, she was able to travel the world while participating in her sport by attending the Arnold Classic in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Madrid, Spain.

According to Allison, the best aspect of competing is getting to know other ladies who have similar interests. She claims to respect all other women who decide to pursue their fitness journeys.

Being Featured in Magazines

Allison was able to secure features in numerous prestigious magazines as a result of her competition triumph. She received spreads in several magazines, including Ironman, Muscle & Fitness, Oxygen, Musclemag Inside Fitness, and others.

She has served as a spokesmodel for several televised advertisements, infomercials, and bodybuilding programs.

Training

Training Method

Allison used to perform a three-day split that included a lot of cardio when she first started working out and competing. Although it was effective at the time, the excessive bodily breakdown and injuries it created hindered her progress.

She created a 4-day split with only a tiny amount of cardio as she gained more knowledge about her body and how it responded to the training. This was flawless and enabled her to practice on instinct whenever she felt the need to.

Elective Exercises

The following are the rep and set ranges that Allison uses in her workout:

  • Squats 4 x 8-10
  • Overhead Push Press 4 x 8-10
  • Deadlifts 4 x 8-10
  • Flat Bench Press 4 x 8-10
  • Lateral Raise 3 x 12-15
  • Walking Lunges 3 x 12-15
  • Seated Cable Rows 3 x 12-15
  • Lying Leg Curls 3 x 12-15

Cardio

Allison primarily uses the stepper and runs for her cardio. She has discovered that including these activities before a show helps to burn fat and highlight definitions.

She views her aerobic workouts considerably more laxly when she isn’t getting ready for a concert. She participates in a range of sports and views cardio as a get-together activity with friends.

Yoga is her go-to low-intensity aerobic exercise. She enjoys working out with a class in the sweltering heat. She practices yoga at home every morning to increase her flexibility and sense of inner serenity.

Nutrition

Nutritional Strategy

Allison Ethier often sticks to a diet consisting of 40% carbohydrates, 40% protein, and 20% fat. She will consume fewer carbohydrates and more protein throughout the weeks leading up to the competition to hasten the leaning out process.

She claims that her diet will resemble a 50/30/20 ratio of protein and carbohydrates throughout this time. To ensure that she gets a consistent supply of energy throughout the day, fats are always kept the same.

Allison makes wholesome, filling dishes. Lean meat, healthy clean carbohydrates like sweet potatoes, and other vitamin-rich veggies are all included in each meal. Here are some of her favorite foods:

  • Chicken
  • Oatmeal

She claims that if she strays too far from her plan, she will quickly “get back on” because she is aware of what will happen if she overindulges.

Supplements

Supplements play a significant role in Allison’s diet. She often consumes whey protein beverages and takes creatine and fat-burning pills to aid in her weight loss.

She takes daily vitamin supplements including vitamin D3, vitamin E, and a potent multivitamin to strengthen her immune system and overall physical wellness.

What can Allison Ethier teach us?

Allison Ethier decided to focus on her fitness career and pursue her aspirations. She thought about this possibility for a long, but after she began exercising, she understood that her potential was limitless.

She would later succeed in obtaining her professional card and competing in some of the world’s top tournaments.

Her achievement serves as an inspiration to anyone who doubts their capacity. Why not train harder than you have ever trained if you want to compete?
