When Andrea Ager was 14 years old, she began her adventure by telling her father that she would work out every day for a year.

From that point on, she became passionate about working out, but Andrea didn’t find CrossFit until she was in college. Since then, she has moved to Los Angeles to pursue her goal of becoming a professional athlete.

After years of commitment and perseverance, Andrea was able to realize her goals and rise to the top of the CrossFit world of athletes.

Biography

Setting Up

Ager, Andrea was born on November 12, 1988. Andrea didn’t exhibit much interest in sports or other forms of exercise when she was younger.

At the age of 14, she first expressed an interest in working out. She then asked her father if she may exercise every day for a year. Her dad consented to her request because he didn’t believe she could accomplish something so challenging.

After a year, Andrea developed an addiction to the way of life and soon started competing in a variety of sports, including volleyball, swimming, and track & field, succeeding in each of them.

CrossFit Investigation

Andrea gradually lost interest in just participating in high school and college sports as time went on. Andrea learned about CrossFit while attending a seminar in one of her first college classes.

Andrea became intrigued by it and began to learn more about the activity. As she did so, she concluded that CrossFit was exactly what she had been seeking.

Andrea claimed to have been “instantly sold,” and after some time she started spending three to four hours a day at the gym before going to work for the entire day.

It didn’t take long for the American Crossfitter to become wholly absorbed in her enthusiasm and forget about everything else, even her work.

Departing for Los Angeles

After participating in Crossfit for a year, Andrea decided to follow her heart and emigrate to Los Angeles to compete against the best athletes in the world.

Although she relished the chance to follow her passion, she acknowledged that it was first quite difficult due to her family.

The American athlete explained that to achieve this, she would have to deal with leaving everyone behind except for her mother.

First-place Awards

2011 marked Andrea’s first professional competition, the same year she relocated to Los Angeles. She placed 17th in the 2011 Crossfit Open, which was held in California.

She didn’t let this discourage her and kept working on getting ready for the upcoming tournaments.

It didn’t take long for Andrea to start racking up noteworthy accomplishments, including a solid second-place finish at the 2011 Crossfit Regionals Team Competition and a fifth-place finish at the 2011 Crossfit Games Team Competition Worldwide.

The greatest, though, was yet to come. Later that year, Andrea was successful in winning the 2011 StrongFit Competition, which gave her the confidence to keep aiming for bigger objectives.

Renowned Crossfitter

Andrea was successful in winning and placing in numerous tournaments during the following two years. She began by taking first place in the 2011 NLI Qualifiers and the 2011 NLI Winter Series Overall. Next, she took first place in the 2012 OC Throwdown Qualifiers and the 2012 StrongFit Competition.

Andrea continued, taking first place in the 2012 WOD Wars Boy/Girl Team Series as well as the Tri-County Winter Shakedown Team Competition.

Her most recent victory in the competition came at the 2013 Las Vegas Frogman Challenge, where she won both her class and the overall competition.

The outcomes solidified Andrea’s status as one of the most well-known CrossFitters in the entire globe.

Training

Andrea acknowledges that as she gained knowledge and expertise, her training regimen significantly evolved.

She claimed that at first, she would perform “crazy workouts” with heavy weights paired with vigorous aerobic exercises, but as the years passed, she began to place a greater emphasis on strength training.

She works out several times per day, at least three times per week, and takes sure to give her body adequate time to recover. For her, this typically entails four days per week of lesser workouts or resting days.

She claims that she feels her quadriceps the most when performing overhead squats, which is her favorite activity. The Palette HSPU workout is Andrea’s least favorite.

But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.”

Nutrition

Dietary Principles

The majority of elite athletes don’t adhere to Andrea’s nutritional philosophy. She acknowledges that she does not enjoy measuring and counting calories, even though she consumes high-quality, organic cuisine.

According to the American trainer, measuring meals is typically meaningless if one is eating healthfully, such as nutrient-dense foods.

Chocolate or cookie dough ice cream is her go-to treat.

Diet

Andrea’s diet consists primarily of:

Andrea likes to keep things straight when it comes to supplements. She just takes fish oil and whey protein capsules as supplements.

Influences and Idols

Andrea Ager looks up to Heather Burgeron and Kristen Clever. She used to watch them when she first began her CrossFit journey, and she believes that their encouragement and counsel have been really helpful to her.
