Who is Angie Marie?

As a “party girl” with an unhealthy lifestyle, Angela “Angie” Marie Okon transformed into a gym fanatic with a lucrative career in the fitness sector.

Short Life of Angie Marie

Angie Marie spent years of her life eating “junk” food until she started working out in the gym in 2011. She started off exercising purely for physical fitness.

She eventually “came in love” with the process of eating well and exercising, though, as time went on.

Four years later, she had sculpted an amazing figure, started a business as an online fitness teacher, and joined the IFBB as a professional bikini competitor. Here is her account:

“Progress cannot occur in the absence of battle. Do not overwork yourself.

Biography

Personal Change

Angie Marie Okon spent her early years eating unhealthily and leading a life that, in her own words, “was not where I wanted it to be. I was sad, unwell, and had a pessimistic attitude on life.”

She decided to take control of her life after years of hardship and start living a healthy lifestyle by attending a gym. Angie started her journey toward fitness in 2011.

Angie understood very little about training and nutrition in the beginning when she was just beginning to train for health. She started educating herself on health and exercise, picking up new information every day.

“I later started training at an MMA club and started accomplishing the goals I had set in front of me,” Angie stated.

Her training program began to work wonders on her physique over time, to the point where she developed an obsession with her new way of life.

Bikini contestant

Angie Marie decided to start competing in fitness bikini events in 2012 to explore how her body would compare to those of other female competitors.

The spring of 2012 saw the debut of her performance. Angie finished third in the NPC Minnesota State Championships.

Angie recalled her first experience performing on stage, saying, “I felt a passion and desire I had never experienced on such a level from the time I went on stage. I was addicted. The remainder is history.

She competed in the NPC Junior Nationals a year later and finished fourth this time. Her greatest, though, was yet to come.

Card Pro

In Angie’s career as a fitness competitor, 2014 turned out to be a year that changed her life. She competed for the first time at the 2014 NPC Junior Nationals, where she finished disappointingly in 10th place.

She recovered, though, with her greatest physique ever, and at the 2014 NPC Nationals, she came in second place. Her performance won her the Pro Card, allowing her to compete in the IFBB’s professional league.

A Career in the Profession

Angie participated in two IFBB Pro events in 2015 and 2016.

In 2015, she made her professional debut at the IFBB Fort Lauderdale Cup Pro. That day, she finished 13th in the bikini class.

She participated at the Atlanta, Georgia, Seaboard Pro in 2016 and finished 11th in the Bikini Class.

Online Personal Trainer

Angie decided to take a break from competing for a while after her performance at the 2016 Seabord Pro. She then shifted her attention to expanding both her training company and internet presence.

She quickly found success in her endeavors, established a reputation for herself in the fitness sector, and has now evolved into a well-respected online coach.

Never be embarrassed to show off your physique or the effort you put into it. Be elated. Become tall. Never let other people’s opinions determine who you are or what you do; always love yourself.

Training

Angie was able to build an incredible body throughout the years because the majority of her training focused on strength and hypertrophy.

Legs are her favorite body area to work out. She likes to train them twice a week as far as frequency is concerned.

She promotes mixing intense weight training with high volume because she thinks that over time, doing so will result in phenomenal muscular growth.

Hip thrusts, squats, lunges, and the leg press are her go-to workouts for the legs and glutes.

Nutrition

Getting Thinner

At least 30 grams of lean protein are consumed by Angie in the mornings. In this manner, she feels full and provides her body with all the necessary amino acids that support muscle synthesis.

She claims that the majority of individuals skip breakfast or just eat light fare in the morning, which is bad for their health and long-term weight loss.

Home-Made Burrito

Macros:

  • Kcal: 383
  • Protein: 30g
  • Carbohydrates: 36g
  • Fats: 14g

Ingredients:

  • 100g Jasmine-White Rice
  • 3 oz. Ground Lean Beef (95%)
  • 1 container Wholly Guacamole — minis
  • 1 c. Spinach
  • optional: pico de gallo

How to prepare:

“I like to make my meals in bulk. Cooking large quantities of rice and beef, then measuring it all out and putting them in a seal-tight Tupperware.

You can either measure out the entire batch cooked for the week, or you can measure it out day-by-day. Seasonings can pretty much be whatever your heart desires.

I use salt because again, I am basic. Keep in mind, like all things, to use this in moderation. There you have it! Easy as 1, 2, 3, 4!

You can always make variations, for example:

Replace the Ground beef with chicken, or steak (lean cuts). If your diet allows, or you are on a more flexible plan (IIFYM), you may also add beans or other veggies (corn, tomato, or peppers).”  Angie Marie

“Stay focused on the future you want, and work hard for it. Don’t wait for your dreams to come true, go and get it.

Fight for the life you want every single day, and if you fail, get back up and try again. Never give up. Stop wishing for it, work for it.”

How can Angie Marie Teach us Something?

Change is achievable if you are willing to strive for it, as Angie Marie taught us. She ate a lot and felt ill throughout her youth.

She was able to change that, though, because of the strength of her positive attitude. As a result, she rose to prominence as proof of what is possible when the correct priorities and goals are established in one’s life.
