Biography (Early Life)

Scoliosis

Anja Schreiner started her quest toward fitness for health-related reasons. Scoliosis, a disorder that caused Anja’s spine to curve laterally, was identified during her adolescence.

Anja began weightlifting to address the situation in the hopes that she would get better on her own.

First Display, First Award

Although Anja first only worked out to correct her scoliosis, she soon developed a love for weightlifting.

Her improvement inspired her to compete in her first bodybuilding competition.

Anja stunned everyone by becoming Miss Germany in 1986 at the young age of 19. She then joined the professional circuit, allowing her to compete against the top female bodybuilders in the world.
