Who is Anthony Scalza?

American professional Men’s Physique competitor Anthony Scalza. Growing up, he was an avid fan of competitive sports, especially soccer and track & field.

However, Anthony’s career in soccer and track came to an end when his high school years did. Due to the lack of competitive sports in his new academic program at college, Anthony Scalza had to find other methods to stay active.

He then joined a gym since he thought it was the simplest way to keep in shape while in college.

What began as a straightforward justification for working out at the gym quickly transformed into a full-fledged career in bodybuilding and competitions.

Anthony has competed in and won a number of the world’s biggest bodybuilding competitions, including the Joe Weider’s Men’s Physique Olympia since he first started his bodybuilding career.

Biography

Sports History

Anthony showed early signs of having a passion for sports. He participated in a variety of school activities throughout elementary, middle, and high school, both required and extracurricular.

Anthony grew more and more competitive with time. As a result, he limited his participation in sports to soccer and track & field, which satisfied his “competitive desire.”

First Gym Membership for Anthony

However, Anthony enrolled in a college that didn’t have a sports program when he graduated from high school. His days of participating in track and soccer had now come to an end.

Anthony joined a gym to stay active. Training with weights gave him an outlet for his drive to keep active and fit, even though it didn’t provide him with the competition he was looking for.

Anthony eventually became very interested in his new way of life. He said, “I fell in love with it, which led me to the lifestyle of bodybuilding.”

Bodybuilding Competitions

After a few years of working out in the gym, Anthony learned about men’s physique competitions as a result of a series of events.

He saw this as the ideal chance to experience competition once more after a long absence.

In the autumn of 2014, Anthony competed in his first bodybuilding competition. He entered the competition with no prior experience and placed an outstanding second.

His subsequent three wins in subsequent shows came after his great debut.

Competition for a Pro Card

Anthony went on to take up a greater challenge in 2015 by participating in two national competitions to win the Pro Card.

He finished fifth in both tournaments, falling short of his goal at the time.

Following that, Anthony took the full year of 2016 off to focus on his weaker body parts.

He hoped that by doing this, he would have enough time to prepare for the stage the following year with his best-ever physique and have a chance of taking home the coveted Pro Card.

Competitive Circuit

The day of the show then arrived in June 2017. Anthony won his Pro Card after outshining rivals with his strong and toned physique at the NPC Universe Championships, just as he had anticipated.

But much more stunning was what came after that. Anthony won his first professional tournament in the Vancouver Pro just a few weeks after receiving his Pro Card. He had little time to prepare.

Here is Anthony discussing his experience at the Vancouver Pro Show: “After receiving my Pro Card, I had no plans to compete on a professional level.

My strategy was to take a great, lengthy offseason to bulk up and strengthen my weak areas so that I could compete better on the professional circuit.

I initially believed my coach, Omar Ventura, was crazy for pushing me to participate in the Vancouver Pro. I maintained my shape and weight within a few pounds of the stage.

While Anthony’s days in soccer and track are now behind him, he understands the importance these activities served in creating the framework for his vocation today – bodybuilding.

Anthony achieved all of his competitive objectives through bodybuilding and competitions, taking home trophies and honors on the Men’s Physique stage.

He currently works to achieve even greater goals, one of which is to triumph in the Mr. Olympia Men’s Physique competition.

Training

Anthony puts in lengthy, challenging exercises. He trains multiple times a week whether he feels like it or not, leaving no room for justification.

He has been able to improve both his physique and his performance on the bodybuilding stage thanks to this way of thinking.

Nutrition

Bulking Lean

Anthony enjoys using a “lean bulking” regimen as one of his favorite techniques to increase the size of his body. This implies that he will gradually increase his caloric intake until he achieves a monthly body weight gain of roughly 1-2 pounds.

Anthony will continue to consume the same number of calories during the offseason after he reaches this stage. By doing it this way, he will build large muscles and very little fat.

Influences and Idols

After graduating from college, Anthony started lifting weights and competing, and his efforts on the stage earned him many awards.

Anthony’s coach Omar Ventura was one of the people who supported him as he rose to the top. Omar advised Anthony to try to compete at the Vancouver Pro, which was just a few weeks away, once he received his Pro Card.

Anthony decided to try it despite his first skepticism. He ultimately took home the show.

“The amount of knowledge I have learned about my body over the years, particularly regarding training and diet, is mind-blowing.

My change came about as a result of putting that information into practice and working extremely hard every day.
