Biography

Early Years

Artemus Dolgin, who was born and reared in Moscow, Russia, had a fascination with bodybuilding at a young age. Artemus’ father handed him an old barbell when he was six years old. This inspired the young person to go out on his journey.

Artemus started working out in his father’s basement gym as soon as he was old enough.

“In Russia, my father established a basement gym that was primarily used by gangsters. I can still smell it and hear the old Olympic weights, which to me seemed like a song.

Making Headway

Artemus had become the child with the most muscle by the time he started high school. He was now allowed to join the Greco-Roman wrestling team at his school.

However, the future IFBB Pro started making preparations to immigrate to America after being motivated by celebrities like Danny Padilla and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In the hopes that a degree would enable him to make a significant transfer to the US, he enrolled at the University of Kyiv.

Artemus finally traveled to Chicago, America, after receiving his college diploma. However, Russain’s life wasn’t always simple.

He kept working out to build the body of his dreams, but he had to work wherever he could to support himself. He worked as a waiter and a janitor while switching between a variety of occupations.

However, his perseverance soon paid off.

American Academics

Artemus gained fame for his intimidating body while he was working in a diner. Artemus was asked to train with a Greco-Roman wrestling team when he was serving a group of athletes in the restaurant.

He gained the head coach’s respect for his skill and strength, and as a result of this achievement, he was given a full scholarship to attend college in St. Louis, Missouri.

Inaugural Competition

Artemus had achieved his ideal physique by the time he received his second college diploma. At this point, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a professional bodybuilder.

2013 saw Artemus compete for the first time in the Men’s Physique division of the NPC Rockford. Despite not succeeding, he managed to finish in a respectable fourth place despite having minimal experience with stage posing.

This gave him more motivation than ever to establish himself in the business.

Card Pro

Artemus quickly entered his second competition, the 2013 NPC Nationals Chicago. He came in second after honing his stage routine.

But in his third competition, he achieved his greatest success to date.

Artemus entered the 2013 NPC Team Universe tournament stage later that year to win his first match, and the Russian contestant succeeded.

In addition to taking home the award, Artemus had also accomplished his goal. He had triumphed and obtained his Pro Card, making him a professional bodybuilder.

A Professional Bodybuilder’s Life

The next year, Artemus entered 5 additional shows. But things didn’t work out the way he expected in the professional leagues.

The Russian bodybuilder changed from the IFBB to the WBFF midway through 2014 after becoming dissatisfied with the way the judges in the IFBB championships treated him because of his size.

As a WBFF contestant, Artemus participated in competitions in the Muscle Model division, finishing third and tenth that year.

“I changed to WBFF because I felt that my size was being unfairly assessed. They said I was “too huge” for my physique.

Entrepreneur

Artemus Dolgin decided to pursue a career outside of acting in 2015. Together with other bodybuilders, he established a business that produces gym wear.

By 2016, his business has flourished, endorsing sports greats like Danny Padilla and Tom Platz.
