Biography
Young Children and Weight Training
American bodybuilder Candice Keene is from Dallas, Texas. Candice didn’t start getting interested in nutrition and exercise until about 2005. She enrolled in school at this point and found the drive to begin her training.
In 2008, Candice started lifting weights more frequently because she enjoyed the sensation it provided her.
She believed that extra assistance and direction could help her advance as her interest in weight training expanded, so she hired a coach.
Candice added new workout routines that included specialized training with additional direction from her new instructor. To further enhance her figure, Candice also began to pay close attention to what she ate and adhere to a set eating schedule.
She decided to enter her first show after acquiring more experience and developing a physique suitable for a bodybuilding competition. Candice entered the NPC All South Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Championships that year.
Her First Success
Candice said that she had no preconceived notions about the NPC All South Fitness & Figure Championships before she competed in it. Amazingly, she managed to win both the overall championship and first place in the Figure Class.
After her initial victory, the Nationals were just two weeks away. With the aid of her trainer, Candice decided that she wanted to compete.
She Got Her Pro Card
She continued her full-time studies and rigorous weight training regimen while she prepared for the finals.
Keene managed to place first and acquire her pro status at the NPC National Bodybuilding & Figure Championship Nationals after two weeks of carefully adjusting her diet and exercise.
Her dedication to competitive bodybuilding and her standing as one of the best-figure competitors in the sport were further cemented by this. She developed a lifelong obsession with creating goals and achieving them after that.
An Athletic Streak
Candice targeted the coveted IFBB Olympia in 2010 and finished in ninth place. She returned to the IFBB Olympia Weekend in 2012 and 2013 and finished third in both competitions.
The IFBB New York Pro, the IFBB Australian Pro Grand Prix XIII, and the IFBB Arnold Classic all saw Candice win first place in a straight row in 2013.
She finished second in Olympia in 2014. Candice came back in 2015 and finished in ninth place.
Having A Child
Candice gave birth to her baby in January 2017, becoming a mommy for the first time. Which added a brand-new challenge and achievement to her list of life’s accomplishments.
Keen keeps working hard in the gym, demonstrating what can be accomplished with commitment and hard effort in any field of endeavor.
“I am a firm believer that, whether consciously or unconsciously, the body obeys what the mind commands. It’s critical to maintain clarity on the outcome of your intended aim in your thoughts.
Training
Every day, Candice likes to work out a different portion of her body to keep things interesting. This helps her to concentrate more intently on that specific muscle area.
In addition, Candice enjoys mixing up her plyometric exercises in between sets, which helps her improve her core and use her stabilizing muscles. Twice a week, she also works out her legs.
Candice may once again train her favorite body area. Her back exercise looks like this as an illustration:
Exercise for Candice’s Back
- Wide-grip lat pulldown.
- Wide-grip lat pulldown – 3 sets moderate to heavy. Finish with a drop set.
- Superset x 3 Standing cable pullover with an upper back row with the same bar.
- Superset x 3 Closed-grip seated rows with closed-grip pulldowns.
- Lying dumbbell pullovers on the bench x 3.
- Underhand bent over barbell rows x 3.
- Back extensions x 3.
“Focus on the end result, and most importantly to believe in yourself.”

Her protein comes from:
- Egg whites
- Chicken

Cycling Carbohydrates
To maintain a low body fat level, Candice typically cycles her food intake. She is aware that her body enjoys the ongoing shift. She combines her complex carbs into the first two to four meals of the day.
Oatmeal is her go-to carbohydrate. Candice also cuts out dairy and consumes little fruit until six to eight weeks before a competition, which helps her maintain a lean physique.
When she does eat fruit, she chooses lower glycemic options like berries or apples. She uses organic unrefined virgin coconut oil and fish oil capsules as supplements when it comes to fats.
In conclusion, Candice is aware of the significance of a healthy diet for professional bodybuilder results.
“I know exactly what it takes and how hard it can be sometimes, so kudos to all my fellow bodybuilding/fitness peeps.”
Influences and Idols
Candice has a strong sense of motivation for herself. Her love of exercising and her desire for healthy eating are what give her the most energy and persistence.
Since she was 17 years old, Candice has primarily gotten her bodybuilding motivation from Figure Pro Monica Brant. Mandy Blank, Jennifer Nicole Lee, and Jamie Eason are more women who Candice admires.
Erin Stern has been an inspiration to Candice since they first met, and she refers to her as her “figure sister” in other places. Together, the two went on to win their Pro cards.
