Bacon Wrapped Dates Healthy

These 5-star dates wrapped in bacon are impossible to resist!

They are just only two ingredients and take about five minutes to create, yet they are one of the finest appetizers ever. Wrapped in crispy, salty bacon and soft, sweet dates? It’s irresistible and so simple!

Why Is This Recipe So Delicious?

  • They’re extremely simple! It takes only two materials and a handful of toothpicks are required!
  • They’re jam-packed with flavor! The crunchy, salty bacon complements the soft, sweet dates nicely.
  • They’re ideal for finger food! They are quite simple to eat and will quickly go at any gathering.
  • This appetizer can be made Whole30 or paleo by using sugar-free bacon.

What Are The Most Appropriate Dates?

Any type of date can be used. I prefer Deglet Noor because it has a higher bacon-to-date ratio and is frequently pitted. Medjool, on the other hand, is sweet and rich, with a softer, more substantial flesh. Both will be fantastic!

Is it possible to prepare this appetizer ahead of time?

This appetizer is best served fresh from the oven, but you may prepare it ahead of time if you don’t plan on serving it right away. Wrap the dates with bacon and use cocktail sticks to attach them.

Place them in the fridge, covered, until you’re ready to cook them. The dates can be prepared and stored in the fridge for up to one day. Because they will be cold, the cooking time may rise by 5 minutes.

Is This a Healthy Snack?

Because the dates don’t require a lot of bacon wrapping, they’re surprisingly nutritious as an appetizer.

Each one has about 50 calories and is minimal in fat, salt, and carbohydrates. For a healthier appetizer, go with all-natural bacon.

They’re even better because they’re made with only two ingredients: dates and bacon.

You probably won’t be able to do all eighteen by yourself, but a few won’t harm!

Chef’s Advice

  • Use sugar-free bacon for paleo or Whole30. If you’re doing the Whole30, make sure your bacon is Whole30-approved.
  • Only a third of a strip of bacon is required; don’t overdo it or the bacon will not cook through.
  • For the best results, cook them in a preheated oven.
