Simply place a slice of ham in the bottom of a baking dish, crack an egg in the center, season, and bake. These are a breakfast staple because they are naturally low in carbs and flavorful.

Favorite Baked Eggs

In addition to being portion-controlled, eggs baked in muffin cups are also quite portable.

They can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the freezer or refrigerator!

Each cup is the perfect size for all of your favorite omelet toppings, too!

No Ham? No issue!

The ham helps the baked eggs come out of the pan when we line the muffin cups with it and then fill them with eggs.

If you don’t have ham, make the following recipe using a muffin pan that has been very thoroughly greased to prevent the eggs from sticking to the pan (or wrap a slice of bacon around the muffin well).

Tips for Baking Eggs

In only 1-2-3, baked eggs are ready.

  1. Ham is used to line each cup.
  2. Each cup should include one cracked egg, followed by one tablespoon of heavy cream.
  3. Add salt and pepper and an equal quantity of cheese to each cup.

Until the whites are set and the yolks are still somewhat runny, bake according to the method below (or to your liking of course). Make breakfast sandwiches out of them by placing them between English muffins and serving them on a dish with home fries.

How long should eggs bake?

Once taken out of the oven, baked eggs will continue to cook a little bit further. Here is a quick guide to baking eggs for various textures, though baking times may vary by a minute or two depending on your baking pan:

  • For soft yolk eggs: Bake eggs for 12 minutes, take them out, and allow them cool before slicing.
  • Medium yolk eggs: Bake for 15 minutes, take them out, and allow them cool before serving.
  • Hard yolk eggs: Bake for 18 minutes, then remove from the oven to cool completely before serving.

Advice & Methods

  • Large eggs fill the muffin cups because they are the ideal size for cooked eggs.
  • There is no need to grease the cups if using bacon in place of ham to line the muffin tins. To start frying bacon, fry it briefly or microwave it. Before adding the remaining ingredients, drain the bacon and line the muffin cups with it.
