A substantial beef-filled pasta dish called a “cheeseburger casserole” is served with a cheese sauce.
The entire family will enjoy this simple, filling entrée. It reheats well and can be prepared in advance. a bowl of cheeseburger casserole
Cheeseburger casserole ingredients
Rotini has the texture and structure to contain the sauce, but any medium-sized pasta would do. Try mostaccioli, penne, or farfalle.
GROUND BEEF: The foundation of any good cheeseburger is beef! Because the small amount of fat gives the meat taste, I like an 80/20 ratio.
SAUCE: This is a quick and simple cheese sauce that only requires a quick stir (no boiling or roux required).
A little Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce enhance the meaty flavor in addition to the fantastic cheese flavor.
Variations
- Low-carb or keto diets? Substitute roasted cauliflower or cauliflower rice for the spaghetti (and swap out the bbq sauce for a low-carb version).
- Use ground beef in place of leftover hamburgers by chopping them up.
- You can experiment with the seasoning by adding some red pepper flakes or by switching the soup’s base to the cream of mushroom or French onion soup.
Making a Cheeseburger Casserole Recipe
Because everyone’s food cooks at the same time in this simple casserole, there’s no need to fry up individual burgers.
- Prepare al dente pasta and drain.
- Brown the onion and the ground meat, then season (per the recipe below).
- In a 9×13 pan, mix the sauce ingredients with the spaghetti and beef.
- Add cheese, sesame seeds, bacon, and BBQ sauce as a garnish.

Storing
In an airtight container, cheeseburger casserole will keep in the fridge for about 4 days. Reheat it in the microwave or on the stovetop for the best results, then scoop it into a wrap for a quick lunch on the go or pile it on top of salad greens for a filling meal.
