Rice with garlic and butter is the ideal side dish for any dish. It has a ton of flavor, is buttery and garlicky, and is so delicious you could eat it plain!

This is comparable to garlic bread made from rice(Garlic Butter Rice). In my opinion, garlic bread works well with all meals except in Asian cuisine.

And this rice with butter and garlic? This now applies to anything. Asian, Mexican, Western, Mediterranean, and French. There isn’t a single cuisine or food that this wouldn’t go well with, in my opinion.

This method of seasoning and flavoring rice that makes it so delicious it can be eaten on its own is one that I enjoy. It’s so wonderful that I could eat a meal’s worth right from the pot!

A common meal in certain Asian nations is garlic rice. It seems to be rather typical in the Philippines. This is my go-to recipe; it is buttery and garlicky, but not overly so.

You are more than welcome to increase the amount of butter and garlic to your liking, but I would recommend testing the basic recipe first before making any adjustments. To your liking, additional butter can be added at the very end.

Although it is optional, I believe that roasting the garlic until it is golden and crispy makes this rice shine. It primarily adds crunch with a sweet garlic flavor rather than a strong garlic flavor.

Keep the slices whole, as shown, or break them up and mix them in with the rice. You could also use the Crispy Fried Shallots or Garlic that is available in jars at Asian shops and some supermarkets as a shortcut.

I usually keep a jar of these on hand because they are so delicious. I use them in salads and soups, but there are so many other things you can sprinkle them on! Even spaghetti is used by me!

Sometimes I add scallions to the rice while other times I simply garnish it, as in the picture. It gives the rice, in my opinion, a pleasant hint of freshness.

One of those sides that can elevate any regular recipe into something extra delectable is this garlic butter rice. I sincerely hope you give it a shot one day because I believe you’ll become addicted just like I have.
