Biography
Young Years
Gal Ferreira Yates, a Brazilian native who was raised in Belo Horizonte, has always been passionate about exercise. She participated in a variety of hobbies, including ballet, gymnastics, and aerobics, and she grew naturally attractive from an early age.
She decided to pursue a college degree in physical education and sports science to further her knowledge of fitness. But at this point, she had no plans to pursue a career as a fitness competitor or model.
Beginning a Fitness Journey
Gal visited her native nation for a vacation after 2006. She was approached by a fitness instructor who saw her ability to thrive in the field when she was lying on the beach.
She decided to start training and competing as a bikini athlete after receiving a lot of encouragement from the instructor. Gal started her fitness adventure at the age of 32.
“I have everything it takes to finish strong,”
Inaugural Competition
Gal worked out regularly in the gym over the following year to develop a physique suitable for placing in a fitness competition. Her objective was accomplished by the middle of 2007.
At her first competition, the 2007 Figure Brazilian show, she took the stage. She impressively left with the award.
She was inspired by this to pursue a career in fitness.
The World’s Best
Gal didn’t waste any time in expanding her bikini athletic background. A few months later, she entered the South American Championship, her second show.
Gal was able to repeat her performance, taking first place and earning a spot in the international championships. Gal now turned her attention to winning the global championship.
She would soon hit another significant milestone. She brought home the trophy from the 2007 IFBB World Bodyfitness Championship while feeling triumphant after her wins.
Gal had achieved her aim of becoming a professional bikini athlete in addition to her victory, though.
Marrying a Bodybuilding Legend
After obtaining her Pro Card, Gal’s life changed dramatically. She received invitations to many fitness expos all around the world, but it was a trip to America that completely altered her life.
Gal traveled to Ohio, US, in 2008 to attend a fitness expo as a representative of a supplement firm alongside many other experts. Gal first met Dorian Yates, a six-time Mr. Olympia winner, in this location.
The two stayed in touch over the following seven months, and Gal ultimately went to England to visit Dorian once more. The two fitness aficionados fell in love right away and got married in 2009.
Getting Popular
Gal gained significant notoriety in the bodybuilding community thanks to her marriage to Dorian. She didn’t take long to earn admiration for her excellent physique on a global scale.
Gal earned a sizable following on social media after participating in two more competitions, the 2012 Nordic Pro and 2012 Olympia, inspiring others to begin their careers in the sector.
Gal, who was 41 at the time, had achieved fitness icon status by 2016.
“I always keep myself mentally strong and push myself hard. The obstacles are just there to make us stronger”

“The secret to a better body, mind, and life is nutrition. “Eat properly to stay well”
Nutrition
Gal strives to consume 5–6 meals a day, spaced out around 3 hours, to maintain a strong metabolism.
She supports cheat meals more than other athletes; once a week, she treats herself to ice cream, pizza, pasta, bread, or cheese fries. Gal thinks that this is good for your health since she uses her cheat meals to shock her body into continuing to grow.
“To keep the metabolism working fast, I give it something totally different than it’s accustomed to having.
If you have “healthy” cheat meals on your “break day,” your body is just going to continue to act like it’s on a diet. Your metabolism may slow and you may start to plateau”

She credits her first instructor from Brazil for inspiring her to start competing, though. After they were married, Gal started looking to Dorian for inspiration because he works with her every day to train her.
I had many priorities. My life has been undergoing a significant transformation. I had to start over in England after being married and leaving Brazil to adjust to the language, culture, and customs there.
