Biography

Entering The Bodybuilding Ring

Gennifer Strobo, who was born in 1976 in Florida, has always had a healthy life. She started teaching physical education (PE) later in her career as a method to pursue her interest in fitness.

Gennifer taught PE for a while before deciding that she needed a new challenge in her life and giving up teaching altogether.

Gennifer looked for a means to be as active as she could after leaving her position as a teacher. She started working out in the gym with her spouse at this point.

Gennifer was approached to assist at a nearby bodybuilding competition not long after she started weightlifting. She was astounded by the contestants’ outstanding physiques and admired their strong, sleek bodies.

Just a few weeks later, Gennifer decided to compete to display her outstanding figure on the bodybuilding stage. She started getting ready for the Battle of Baloxi, which served as her first tournament, in 2007.

Gennifer was immediately captivated after placing first in the tall class. She committed to keeping working on getting better after that.

Professional Career In IFBB

In 2009 at the NPC Junior Nationals, Gennifer received her IFBB Pro Card as a result of her perseverance and commitment to personal growth. Since achieving this fantastic feat, Gennifer has excelled in her bikini competition career.

Despite finishing in 16th place at the 2013 Olympia, Gennifer closed the year on a high note by winning the 2013 Pittsburgh Pro and 2013 Powerhouse Pro in back-to-back weeks.

Gennifer persisted in her efforts to place in the top 5 at Olympia. She participated in the competition both in 2014 and 2015. She placed sixth on both occasions, moving her one step closer to realizing her ultimate goal.

Repetitive Actions

To achieve the greatest possible muscle contraction, Gennifer does her repetitions gently. Her workouts are varied since she frequently alternates between heavy weights with low repetitions and light loads with high repetitions.

Favorite Exercise

Gennifer claims that her favorite body areas are her glutes and abs. She emphasizes working out these specific muscle groups as a result.

She exercises her abs at least three days a week. Three days are devoted to weighted abs workouts, with the first two days using only bodyweight.

She also participates in plyometrics once a week. Plyometric exercises assist Gennifer in truly shaping her legs and glutes and provide her an extra cardiovascular push for the weekend, as she states.

Cardio

Gennifer does cardio for 20 to 30 minutes, five to six days a week, to get ready for any competitions. In contrast, she only performs cardio exercises three times a week during the off-season.

Because of her fast metabolism, Gennifer prioritizes strength training above her regular aerobic workouts. In the words of Gennifer:

“When preparing for a contest, I work out for 20 to 30 minutes five to six days a week. Since my metabolism is so high, doing too much cardio is not good for me. The stair climber is one of my favorite cardio machines.

My weakest physical component, my legs, have strengthened as a result. Cardio in the off-season is quite erratic for me. Whenever I can, I try to exercise for 30 minutes three days a week on average.

“I consume 7-8 meals a day, each of which includes a fair amount of vegetables and few carbs. I never get bored eating because every contest prep diet has been different.

The Significance Of Nutritious Eating

According to Gennifer, a good diet and attention to macronutrients are crucial for the process of gaining muscle. To quote Gennifer:

“Make sure your daily diet contains a sufficient amount of protein, complex carbohydrates, and vital fats. Your muscle growth will suffer if any of these are deficient.

Influences And Idols

Jenn Gates, Gina Aliotti, and Mary Lado, three of Gennifer’s fellow bikini contestants, all have symmetrical, well-proportioned bodies. Gennifer was inspired by them, and it drove her to constantly work on both her posing and her physique.

To provide a positive example for her girls, Gennifer draws inspiration from them as well. In the words of Gennifer:

“I believe that throughout my life, my girls have motivated me. We all seem to experience that from kids. My girls have motivated me to constantly push myself and do my best because I want to set a positive example for them.

I believe that my daughters get strength when they witness how I have the power to transform the lives of other women by encouraging them to believe in themselves.
