Guy Cisternino desired to have an excellent physique like his father, a football and boxing player, and Cisternino was originally encouraged to start bodybuilding by him.

Biography

From Bodybuilding To Football

Born on March 21, 1982, Guy Cisternino was reared by Italian parents.

He had a lifelong fascination with exercise and athletics; Guy claimed that his father, a great-looking boxer and football player, served as his primary source of motivation for bodybuilding.

Growing up, Cisternino gradually increased his involvement in football and boxing. In the third grade, he began playing Pop Warner football, although he later admitted that being the smallest player on the team didn’t make him happy at the time.

His father got him a set of weights while he was a junior in high school. He initially trained at home with a few weights and a triceps pulldown machine, but as he started high school, he began working out in the gym.

He continued to be passionate about football when he went to college, but he started spending more time in the gym. After learning about bodybuilding competitions, Cisternino rapidly made weightlifting his priority.

First-Place Awards

He toyed with the idea of competing in bodybuilding contests after developing a powerful physique. Eventually, in 2003, he decided to take the stage for the first time. But seven days before the show, he received an email informing him that it had been postponed.

Guy then started looking for further competition right away. Later, he was able to locate a different performance for that date in West Virginia.

I spent $1300 on repairs for my Bronco II, and my cousin and I traveled nine hours to compete in my first bodybuilding event.

Guy arrived at the event, entered the stage for the first time, and won the novice class overall and the open class, but he came in second place overall in the open division.

Cisternino claims that this is when he realized that bodybuilding and competition were his true calling in life and that he wanted to pursue them for the foreseeable future.

Card Pro

After winning his first match, Cisternino became addicted to the lifestyle and continued training for other competitions. He participated in several local and regional competitions between 2003 and 2007, placing in some and winning others.

He competed in the 2007 IFBB New York Metro Championships, winning the middleweight division. After the competition, he was even more dedicated to his training and nutrition than before.

Guy then participated in the 2007 NPC Nationals, finishing second in the middleweight division.

The following year, he competed in his second show, the NPC Junior USA, where he won first place. He realized he had more ability to advance after winning the NPC Junior USA.

At the 2008 NPC Nationals, he entered the ring and “smoked” the opposition, winning first place with a perfect score and earning his pro card.

Future Contests

Guy returned to competition after a year off and returned with a string of respectable victories after earning his Pro card, but it wasn’t until the 2011 IFBB Europa Supershow that he started to extend his winning streak.

Cisternino took part in a lot of events over the following several years, including the 2013 IFBB Wings of Strength Chicago Pro-Am Extravaganza, where he finished second and first in the 2014 IFBB Europa Dallas tournament.

With a victory in the 2014 IFBB Toronto Pro Supershow and a second-place finish at the 2014 IFBB New York Pro, he continued his string of outstanding performances.

He finished second at the IFBB Europa Phoenix, first at the IFBB New York Pro, and sixth at the IFBB Olympia Weekend in 2015.

Now in Guy’s Life

Since the beginning of his bodybuilding journey, Cisternino has grown to be an IFBB Professional bodybuilder with a sizable social media following.

He frequently shares pictures and inspirational quotes on these platforms, encouraging others to face their challenges and become the best versions of themselves.

According to Guy, persons who build aggressively to add an extra pound of muscle during the off-season may struggle more while trying to lose excess body fat.

Influences and Idols

Guy Cisternino frequently referred to his father as a role model. He claimed that as a young child, he used to constantly admire and try to imitate his father’s arms.
