Any coleslaw will be elevated to a whole new level with the help of this homemade coleslaw dressing recipe! It is creamy, tangy, and tasty and only requires 5 ingredients.
You won’t ever need to purchase coleslaw dressing from a shop after you learn how to make it yourself! The following is why:
- It’s incredibly simple. Five simple ingredients are all you need to make this creamy coleslaw dressing, and it only takes a few minutes to mix them together.
- It is created using whole premium foods. You can be certain of the ingredients when you prepare your own cole slaw dressing. It is naturally sweetened with maple syrup rather than processed sugar and has no additives or stabilizers.
- And last but not least, it tastes great! This creamy, tangy dressing is excellent on coleslaw, but it also tastes fantastic on other salads. Use it to make broccoli salad or toss it with lettuce, baby greens, or kale. Once you have it, you’ll discover a variety of applications for it.
This simple dressing recipe is perfect if you enjoy coleslaw. Let’s make some food!
RECIPE INGREDIENTS FOR COLESLAW DRESSING
To prepare this homemade cole slaw dressing, you only need 5 essential ingredients:
- Use excellent mayonnaise in this recipe for the tastiest results. My first preference when using store-bought mayo is Sir Kensington’s. This vegan mayo I make is fantastic, too!
- The dressing gets a lovely tang from the apple cider vinegar.
- Dijon mustard: It provides additional tang and a slight peppery flavor.
- The strong vinegar and mustard are balanced by the sweet maple syrup.
- If you’ve prepared my egg salad, deviled eggs, or creamy potato salad, you already know that celery seed, mayo, and mustard go great together. These tiny creatures elevate this dressing by adding a mouthwatering savory flavor.
Add salt and pepper to taste after whisking these items together.
MAKING YOUR OWN COLESLAW DRESSING
This cole slaw dressing is what I use the most frequently when making my own cole slaw, but it also goes nicely with pre-shredded cole slaw.
Be sure to have around 8 cups of shredded cabbage and carrot, whether you want to shred the vegetables by hand or use a mix. You’ll have enough dressing this way to sparingly cover all the vegetables.
It’s time to eat once you combine the slaw and dressing. I enjoy serving my own homemade coleslaw alongside these traditional barbecue dishes:
- Best Veggie Burger
- Portobello Mushroom Burger
- Quinoa Burger
- Vegan BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
- Crispy Cauliflower Po’Boy Sandwiches
Fruit salad, grilled veggies, or corn on the cob can be used to finish the dinner. Don’t forget the brownies for dessert!
If you have any extra dressing, you can keep it in the refrigerator for up to a week in an airtight container. It goes well with any kind of greens, but my kale salad recipe is my favorite.
