Why Is This Recipe So Delicious?

  • It’s incredibly simple to make and requires no cooking. Perfect for those hot summer days when you don’t want to be in the kitchen!
  • Serve it as a side dish or as a whole meal! For a quick crab roll, I like it on lettuce wraps, buttery crackers, or hot-dog-style buns. It’s filling but not too heavy.
  • Any leftovers make a delicious lunch or snack the following day! Keep the crab salad refrigerated in an airtight container. It will keep for three days.

Important Ingredients For Crab With Salad

Krab Meat (Imitation Crab Meat) – In most regions, imitation crab is a cheaper alternative to the real crab that is available all year.

When I say “cost-effective,” I mean it: imitation crab costs around $6 per pound, whereas real crab meat costs around $25 per pound.

The imitation crab doesn’t have any crab meat in it. To simulate the taste and texture of real crab, it’s usually produced with a combination of white fish, egg whites, sugar, and starches.

Old Bay Seasoning –  is a mix of pepper, paprika, and celery salt that has been used for generations. It goes well with just about anything, but it’s especially fantastic with seafood! To acquire the correct flavor, add more or less than 1 teaspoon to your crab salad.

Chef’s Advice

  • To avoid huge bits of celery and green onion in each bite, finely chop them. Because their flavors can be rather powerful, smaller portions help to keep everything in harmony.
  • Why not serve your crab salad on a hot dog bun? To begin, lightly toast the bun. You can also lightly butter it if you want. It has a wonderful flavor and texture that goes well with the chilled creamy crab salad.
  • It can set out for up to 2 hours before needing to be chilled if you’re taking it to an indoor shower or potluck. When the temperature outside is above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, it can only be left out for one hour before it needs to be refrigerated. Watch the time!
