Biography
Dreams of Bodybuilding
Jay always wanted to be a professional fitness model when he was younger.
In his own words, he claims that ever since he was 12 years old and began to see weightlifting in magazines, he had yearned to “be on the cover of a fitness magazine and to be able to see it on the shelves of [his] local grocery store.”
Although he’d always been fascinated by weightlifting, he didn’t enter a gym until he was 17 years old. Instead, he started kickboxing in his early teens, where he honed his fighting skills.
Unfortunately, he was forced to quit his career as a kickboxer after hurting himself during a sparring session.
After some recuperation strength training, he had first intended to go back to kickboxing, but he quickly fell “in love with bodybuilding and fitness” once more, just as he had when he was younger.
College
When Jay left home for college at the age of 19, he discovered that he was leading a very “unhealthy lifestyle,” which caused him to put on a lot of weight.
He claims that he was unhappy with the way his life was taking, so he decided to embark on a new fitness journey that would involve losing weight and enhancing his physical appearance.
Jay worked out as hard as he could over his summer at the university to lose the excess weight.
He eventually lost over 25 pounds and entirely altered his lifestyle. He claims, when speaking of this time in his life, “I would not be where I am today without gym class.”
Exercise Modeling
As Jay gained strength and confidence, he started looking for outlets for his new enthusiasm. He arranged for his photoshoot using a nearby studio because he was keen to launch a career in the fitness industry.
After several years of “hard work, consistency, and determination,” Jay started to secure significant shoots with prestigious companies. He works for fitness websites as well as supplement firms. At that point, he began to work on social media.
On Social Media
Jay viewed social media as a component of a larger plan to expand his fan base and get his name “out there.”
He realized he would need to pay attention to both who was in his images and who he linked himself with as soon as he started posting on Instagram.
He thinks that his photos were quite helpful in creating business connections. Jay claims that the attention of great personalities was drawn to his positive and enthusiastic approach to his sport.
He has created inspirational postings for followers as his career on social media and in the field of fitness modeling has evolved. Taking it one day at a time is his key piece of advice to them.
“The journey may be challenging, but it will be worthwhile.”
Training
Understanding Mistakes
Jay claims that when he first began lifting seriously, he committed numerous common rookie errors, such as thinking that lifting as much weight as possible would provide quick results. He claims that doing so completely failed to give him the “look he was striving for.”
Jay claims that as a result of these early errors, he has come to understand the significance of “tempo, time under tension, and constant isolation” in the process of developing muscle. He thinks that proper form produces proper results.
Establishing A Routine
Jay spent a long time learning the fundamentals of a professional routine. He devised a regimen that he stuck with for a very long period as he learned more about good form, grip, and human movement. That’s it:
Monday:
- Steady State Cardio+AB Circuit
- Chest and Calves
Tuesday:
- Back and Traps
Wednesday:
- HIIT+AB Circuit
- Arms and Calves
Thursday:
- Quads and Calves
Friday:
- Steady State Cardio+AB Circuit
- Shoulders and Rear Delts
Saturday:
- Hamstrings, Glutes, and Calves
Sunday:
- Cardio and Abs
Plan Of Recommended Exercise For College Students
Jay has provided tips for college students on how to maintain their fitness while studying in addition to this well-planned professional program. His advice is as follows:
- Always plan your workouts so they fit in with your classes.
- Allow for time to warm up and shower, before and after your workout.
- Have some dumbbells, a chin-up bar, and an AB roller in your room.
- Walk to class to save money and to get some cardio in.
- Cook meals in large quantities twice a week and box them up.
- Bring multiple meals in your bag each day, so you’re not tempted to eat available unhealthy options.
Nutrition
Meal Preparation Under Regulation
Jay has a diet that is just as organized and thorough as his exercise program. To avoid having to cook on the day of his workout, he always makes his meals the day before.
This enables him to concentrate during his session, enabling him to properly complete each workout.
He is even more prepared and starts to focus on his nutrition months in advance when he is getting ready for a picture session or contest.
He also plans his meals around a few key items throughout the year, and he typically stays very close to this.
Regular Diet
He claims that “chicken, turkey, steak, brown rice, sweet potato, rolled oats, avocado, Udo’s oil, peanut butter, and a ton of green veggies” make up the majority of his diet.
He always uses carb cycling, which entails a few days of no carbs followed by a few days of lots of carbs, as he is getting ready to reach peak performance.
To maintain his lean physique and provide him the energy to train, this makes sure that his glycogen levels are maintained.
Balance is crucial. If you want to maintain long-term mental and physical health, it’s crucial to eat foods you enjoy. Consume these meals in moderation and include them in your daily macronutrient allocation.
Turkey is one of Jay’s preferred meats. He enjoys using this meat in a variety of his dishes, one of which is described below:
