Biography

Initial Motivation

When Julian was a senior in high school, some of his buddies joined a nearby gym and began going there frequently.

This is how Julian first became interested in bodybuilding. As Julian was already well-known for his inherent strength and size, he quickly started weight training out of fear of being outmatched and left behind.

Julian only needed one session to develop a dependence. Like a fish to water, he adapted to bodybuilding, and the effects were apparent right away.

But even though Julian had previously developed his strength through capoeira, his desire to lift weights quickly took hold.

“Training became into my lifestyle and my passion.”

Not just his high school buddies, but also his uncle, an accomplished bodybuilder with years of expertise, inspired him to start working out.

He received a lot of support and advice from his uncle in the beginning. He taught him the fundamentals, and as Julian puts it, “the rest is history from there on out!

Commercial entrepreneur

After training and studying the trade during his high school years, Julian enrolled at the University of Sabana to study marketing management and global logistics. He specialized in PP and GP at Inalde Business School (program owners and management staff).

Competition Background

After finishing his education, Julian entered several bodybuilding competitions, including Mr. Colombia and Muscle Mania.

He was named the only Colombian in 2015 to hold two Pro cards, one each for fitness and male modeling.

Julian Tanaka is a role model and an inspiration to many because he is one of Latin America’s top experts and motivational bodybuilders.

Julian is now known for sharing his expertise and love for bodybuilding with millions of people across the world after becoming one of Colombia’s top fitness athletes and male models.

He continues to get stronger every year while picking up new talents as a pro and personal trainer.

Training

Julian’s objectives fluctuate from season to season based on the demands of photoshoots or contests.

He will occasionally perform split exercises or a full-body routine when working out. However, Julian will start each workout with four sets for each muscle group.

He likes to suggest three main workouts as his favorites because they are effective for him. They are

  1. Squats: “They work my whole body and produce the most testosterone, I love them.”
  2. Bench Press: “This is my favorite exercise because I love to train my chest the most.”
  3. Arnold Press: “The Arnold Press helps give the shoulders a more rounded shape which helps give the shoulders more of a 3D look.”
