A high school graduate, according to sources, the 72-year-old is quite educated.

What is known about Winndye Jenkins, Larry’s wife?

1. She And Larry Hoover Were Unable To Get Married

Winndye revealed in an interview that she and Larry were not married despite dating since the late 1960s. She claimed that every attempt she and Larry made to get married was unsuccessful. The Penitentiary where Larry was housed always found a justification to forbid the couple’s union.

She has been referred to as Larry Hoover’s “Common-law” wife, though.

2. Winndy Jenkins Was Accused Of Helping Larry Launder Money

Winndye was charged with using her business to assist her husband in money laundering. Around the middle of the 1960s, she had her own concert promotion company. Authorities asserted that one of her partner’s methods for money laundering was through this company.

Even though Larry was found, Winndye was not put on trial for any crimes.

3. Her Partner Was Arrested And Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

Six life sentences, totaling 150–283 years in prison, were given to Larry Hoover. The accusations made against the Gangster Disciples gang’s founder were numerous and extremely upsetting.

These accusations included murder as well as conspiracy, extortion, and engaging in illegal activity. Hoover was detained in September 1973, and by November of that year, he had received his punishment.

4. Winndye Jenkins’s Response to Her Partner’s Arrest

A few months into Winndye’s pregnancy with their son, Larry, her partner, received a sentence. At the time the court rendered its decision and sentenced Larry, Winndye was expecting a child. She was therefore left to deal with the difficulties of pregnancy and childbirth by herself.

She was still adamant about raising her family as a unit despite this. She committed to visiting Larry with her family at least three times a year in the future.

She had a really difficult time visiting, though, because of the prison guards at the United States Penitentiary ADX Florence.

Her family always planned ways to stop her from visiting them whenever she did. These methods either involved stirring her up or charging her with encouraging her husband’s gang activity.

Because of a few minor mistakes, they even go so far as to revoke their right to see Larry for a year.

When Winndye couldn’t speak clearly after having her thyroid removed, the prison guards got frustrated with her visit.

Winndye vowed to sue the Penitentiary after these and numerous other incidents led her to believe that the guards were racist.

Justin Moore, Larry Hoover’s attorney, claimed that the guards violate their client-attorney confidentiality. Moore declared that he and Winndye would team up to sue the Penitentiary.

5. She Has A Child For Larry

Larry Hoover’s son was born while he has incarcerated thanks to Windye. Larry Hoover Jr. was the name of the boy.

Despite being an adult with a family of his own, Larry still visits his father with his mother and children.

Larry Hoover Jr. has a daughter and a son who shares his father’s name, Larry Hoover III.

Despite Larry Hoover spending many years in jail and only occasionally visiting his family, the Larry Hoover family has expanded.

6. She has consistently been faithful to Larry

Winndye does not let the fact that the staff at the ADX Florence Penitentiary have treated her and her family discourage her. She continues to be devoted to her partner and the child’s father.

She never stopped advocating for him and working to get him parole. She steadfastly supported him even though he was denied parole.

She repeatedly assured the prison’s security officers that she would visit her husband until she passed away. She has fervently kept her word on this promise.

Winndye never missed the chance to see her husband, so when her visits were restricted, she experienced heartbreak.

7. Winndye Persisted In Her Hard Work Despite Obstacles

Winndye started working for and alongside Rite-way Huggins Construction Services, Inc. as her partner was taken into custody and given a sentence. Larry Huggins was in charge of the building business. He worked for the government as a fundraiser as well.

Winndye worked for the construction company as a clerk. Larry Hoover Jr., her son, also bought a property from Larry Huggins.

Police investigated Larry Huggins because of his association with the Jenkin-Hoover family. When questioned about specific incidents, he asserted that he was unfamiliar with Larry Hoover Sr.

In addition to confirming the claim, Larry Hoover Sr. emphasized that he had no dealings with Huggins.
