From being a nervous, underweight office worker to a WBFF Pro Bikini model, Lauren Simpson has undoubtedly built one of the best female bodies in contemporary history.

Lauren Simpson was an avid sportswoman in high school, participating in netball, touch football, swimming, and athletics. However, she didn’t discover her love for fitness until she was 25.

Biography

Young Age and Exercise

Lauren was born and reared in Sydney, Australia, where she was always quite active. She participated frequently in the athletic, touch football, and netball teams at her school because she liked how competitive they were.

At the age of 20, just after receiving her degree from college, she landed her first position as an HR Coordinator in a financial advisory firm.

Lauren spent the following four years trapped in a dull corporate setting, so she started working out in the gym as a change of pace.

Lauren developed a liking for exercising, but she had no idea how to maximize her workouts.

She was only doing aerobic exercises and consuming about 1000 calories per day; she knew nothing about nutrition or bodybuilding. Although it was a risky plan, Lauren was determined to lose weight.

Issues with Anxiety and Weight

Although Lauren had the will and motivation to achieve her goal of sculpting her ideal body, her diet and lack of understanding were holding her back.

She was dangerously underweight since she wasn’t consuming enough food to sustain her body, and as a result, she developed anxiety.

She was a mess physically and mentally because she had taken exercise to an unhealthy degree. Not only that, but she also stopped attending a lot of social gatherings, and her relationships with her friends and family deteriorated.

Lauren was aware that she needed to make changes to reclaim control of her life.

“I learnt that health and fitness shouldn’t be about punishing yourself to a point where you are unhappy.

I aspire to be fit and strong, but most importantly with my health, happiness, friends and family as first priority.”

Turning Point and Start of Fitness Journey

By the end of 2014, when she was 24 years old, she had finally made her first progress toward recovery and had started looking into several personal trainers to assist her in overcoming her challenges.

This was to mark a significant turning point in her life and the beginning of her career in the fitness sector.

Lauren quickly hired a coach and received instruction on optimal nutrition. She started working out and eating a balanced diet. She was finally getting in shape and heading straight for her ideal shape.

Being Popular

Lauren managed to reach a healthy weight after working out diligently under the direction of her trainer, and she also sculpted a really attractive physique. However, she wasn’t done yet.

She started documenting her journey on Instagram, proud of her transformation. Before she knew it, Lauren’s uploads were going viral and she had become a household name online.

Lauren was inspired by the support she received from her large following and intensified her workouts to build an even better body.

Through social media, she learned about fitness competitions, started investigating them, and developed a newfound respect for the athletes.

She found herself craving the spotlight after admiring the profiles of bikini athletes like Paige Hathaway and Michelle Lewin.

“I became more aware of fitness competitions through social media and was in absolute awe of the bodies of the girls up on stage. To me, they represented months of hard work, dedication and commitment.”

First Competition and Pro Card

Lauren was finally prepared for her first competition, the INBA Southern Cross Championships in April 2015, after months of diligent training.

She left with both the prize and the overall victory. Her efforts have paid off.

But this was only the start.

Lauren won the overall title and first place in the 2015 INBA Sydney Super Bodies competition that same month. She also received her Pro Card that evening, so that wasn’t her only success.

At the age of 25, two years after she had started on her path, she succeeded in realizing her goal of turning into a professional bikini athlete.

Professional Bikini Athlete Life

Success in her first few tournaments only fueled Lauren’s desire for more. She entered her first professional show, the WBFF Fitness, and Fashion Gold Coast, four months after winning the INBA Sydney Super Bodies.

Despite not continuing her winning run, she finished in the top 3 in a brutally competitive Bikini Diva Tall competition that included competitors like Rachel Dillon.

Training

Three lower-body sessions, three upper-body sessions, and one full-body conditioning session make up Lauren’s weekly workout schedule. She works out six times per week to keep up her amazing physique.

She tries to avoid doing cardio unless she is training for a competition and prefers to take 1-2 walks each week.

“I’ve grown to adore ‘lifting heavy,’ and I find that being strong has given me a lot of power. My ability to squat and deadlift almost twice my body weight now puts me on par with many men in my gym.

“I eat pretty plain and simple a majority of the time but I do LOVE to make my healthy Mexican bowls when I’m feeling a little fancy.”

Nutrition

Lauren eats a well-balanced diet composed of lean protein, good fats, and complex carbohydrates that are scheduled to coincide with her workouts. She makes an effort to consume healthy whole meals throughout the year, tracking her macros to meet her goals.

Diet Plan

Meal 1: Beef rump steak, walnuts, spinach, and a side of blueberries.

Meal 2: Turkey breast, macadamias, mushrooms, and mixed green veggies.

Also, Meal 3: Barramundi, avocado, and mixed green veggies.

Although Lauren Simpson’s inspiration comes from within, she cites Michelle Lewin and Paige Hathaway as two of her primary career influences. She also gives credit to her followers for inspiring her to improve during her fitness quest.

Although I have a lot of respect for fitness models like Michelle Lewin and Paige Hathaway, I get most of my inspiration from within.
