Lidia Valentin Perez was an active child from a young age. She was born and raised in Ponferrada, Spain. Before starting weightlifting, Lidia worked in various sports. like basketball and athletics.

Lidia began lifting weights when she was 11 years old. Lidia was passing the weightlifting coach one day as she walked through the gym hallway where she used to work out every day.

He stopped Lydia after noticing her potential and offered that she take weightlifting lessons.

Lidia initially dismissed the suggestion. She informed the trainer that she had no interest in doing weightlifting. But as the coach persevered, she started to reconsider. Lidia eventually decided to start weightlifting.

“The weightlifting instructor looked at me intently. He recognized in me a lot of qualities and a strong aptitude for weightlifting. I wasn’t paying much attention to him at first, but after his repeated invites, I thought, “Why not?'”

Lidia’s initial motivation for starting weightlifting was merely curiosity. But as time went on, her interest gradually evolved into a fascination and even devotion.

Lidia’s enthusiasm for weightlifting grew as her strength increased. She eventually got in touch with her coach and decided to compete in her first weightlifting competition.

A Training Day, Competition, Gym

Lidia Valentin trains twice a day leading up to the competition. She works out in the morning from 9 AM to 1 PM.

She’ll return home after this, have a filling lunch, and take a shower. She’ll head back to the gym to resume her training after a few hours of rest.

She works out in the evening from 5 to 8 o’clock. Thus, Lidia works out for a total of 5–6 hours every day. She works six days a week and only takes one day off.

“Training today is nothing like what it was when I first started.

I now engage in high-performance training, working out six days a week for long periods in the knowledge that the more weight I can lift, the better I will become. In contrast to when I first started, I barely raised the bar.
