Among those she was romantically involved with were Jerry Brown, George Lucas, Albert Brooks, Steve Martin, Mick Jagger, and Jim Carrey.
Her friendships with Congressman Brown and Lucas stand out among these. Despite their differences, they formed strong bonds.
Brown and Ronstadt came from quite different backgrounds. He was a congressman running for the White House, and she was a vocalist at the top of her game.
Their relationship was never concealed. They were seen together in a number of locations including on magazine covers.
After meeting at a restaurant in Los Angeles in 1969, they began dating, and things progressed quickly after that. Brown supposedly changed when they were together.

Lucas, who is often quiet, tried to “transform into someone cool,” in the words of the Daily Mail, by changing his appearance.
They merely became engaged, despite there being rumors that they had wed.
They even discussed the idea of constructing a honeymoon cabin close to his Skywalker Ranch, where she had spent a lot of time.
But neither the cottage nor their marriage happened.
By 1988, they had called off their wedding and ended their relationship. This would ultimately be Ronstadt’s breaking point.
Later, she acknowledged that she “never seriously considered” getting married to any of these men. She nevertheless wished to have kids.
As a result, she adopted her first child two years after parting ways with Lucas.

She said this during an interview she gave to Playboy magazine in 1980. She had a daughter for herself in 1990.
In December 1990, she brought her daughter Mary Clementine Ronstadt into the world.
Then, in 1994, she adopted Carlos, a second child. After returning to her hometown of Tucson, she had both of her children.
Both Mary and Carlos were interested in other things in addition to their mother’s singing.
In 2008, the New York Times reported that Carlos, then 14, was into Motorhead and Rob Zombie, while Mary, then 17, was into fashion design.
Carlos reportedly even questioned his mother about why she never performed rock and roll music. When Ronstadt sang in English, Mary, who began singing in Spanish at the age of 9, used to become agitated.
Mary is presently engaged in activities resembling fashion design. She became an art schoolteacher while staying in touch with the arts. From 2009 to 2019, she was employed as an art assistant at the Guadalupe art program.
Carlos, her son, remains out of the spotlight. The LA Times last discussed him in September of this year.
He was 27 at the time, lived close to his mother in San Francisco, and worked for Apple, according to the outlet.
