Don’t worry, no deep fryer is required. Extra-crispy chicken wings are coated in a buttery, lemony sauce and sprinkled with freshly cracked pepper. Wing excellence.

Take a break from the typical lemon pepper wings and bake or air fried them instead (great for people who can’t handle the heat)!

Lemon Pepper Wings

We adore this straightforward spin on a well-known snack favorite. These are deliciously tart and make your lips pucker.

  • These can be prepared in the oven or an air fryer.
  • Lemon zest and lemon pepper give these a fantastic flavor boost.
  • They are simple to prepare and take very little time.
  • If desired, top with some parmesan cheese.

How are Lemon Pepper Wings made?

PORK WINGS

To save time, buy split wings (the small drumsticks and the flat sections). Splitting whole chicken wings yourself takes time. Both fresh and frozen wings can be used to make these. Cooking time will be longer for frozen wings.

SEASONING

These have a lemon pepper flavor coating. Before adding if using store-bought, give it a taste (we prefer homemade lemon pepper seasoning). You might need to cut back on the quantity of salt you add to the wings because certain brands can be really salty.

SAUCE WITH LEMON PEPPER BUTTER

These are boiled and then heavily dusted with freshly ground black pepper before being tossed in lemon butter. OH MY GOD! Use your pepper grinder if you have one right away!

Make Lemon Pepper Wings at Home

Here are a couple of techniques; we prefer to cook wings in the air fryer, but we also know how to bake them for crispy skin! Of course, you can deep fry these wings as well if you enjoy doing so.

Chicken wings with lemon pepper in the oven

  1. Add flour and baking powder and toss.
  2. Place a rack and wings on a baking sheet covered with foil.
  3. Bake in accordance with the directions listed below.
  4. After removing the wings from the oven, mix them in butter and lemon. Add a lot of fresh black pepper when seasoning. Serve warm.

How to Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Wings

  1. Place the wings in a single layer and preheat the air fryer as directed in the recipe below.
  2. Till crisp, cook.
  3. Take the wings out of the air fryer and combine them with butter and lemon. Add a lot of fresh black pepper when seasoning. Serve warm.

For the Best Wings…

  1. To ensure that the wings are crisp, preheat the oven or the air fryer.
  2. No of the approach, turn the food around halfway through cooking to ensure that both sides crisp up nicely.
  3. For this dish, freshly cracked pepper works best.

We still enjoy serving these wings with ranch or blue cheese dressing (or dip!) even if they aren’t particularly hot.
