Start exercising

Marika Magriplis eventually decided it was time to take the stage for the first time and compete in a bikini figure competition after many years of perseverance and hard work.

She competed in the Female Classic division of the IFBB Australian Bikini Short Division in 2013, which she easily won.

“In 2013, my training culminated in triumph in the IFBB Bikini division, where I won the QLD All Female Classic and the IFBB Australasian Bikini Short division, which was the pinnacle of my career to date.

Marika’s Unborn Child

Marika became pregnant with her baby soon after taking first place in her maiden tournament. She continued to exercise during this time, but at a slower pace to preserve both herself and her unborn child.

Marika was able to maintain her strength, which she claimed was crucial to remaining healthy and strong while carrying the additional weight.

Here is Marika discussing how much she liked training around this time:

“In 2014, I became pregnant and decided to continue being as active and healthy as I could. I thoroughly enjoyed my training during this time.

Keeping active while pregnant was a wonderful sensation, and it was a wonderful time in my life. Sure, there were many exercises I was unable to do, and I also had to reduce my training intensity for my health and the health of my kid.

When the time was right and with the help of my family, I was able to very slowly progress back into some weight training and also make changes to my diet to help get back into the shape I wanted to be in.

“In 2015 after giving birth, I found my return to an active lifestyle very challenging as being a Mother my priorities had changed, but when the time was right and with the support of my family I was able to.

“This was not simple, and there were many ups and downs on the physical and mental roller coaster.

However, I was ultimately successful in getting back in shape 7 months after giving birth and booking a photo session in LA with renowned photographer Alex Ardenti.

Future Plans

Marika delights in assisting people in leading a balanced, healthy life. She also likes motherhood and embraces the difficulties that come with raising a family.

Just like Marika says, “I would love to assist anyone realizes their dream if they have a dream and are willing to commit to a lifestyle change.”

“I have always employed a combination of high-intensity cardio, such as hill/stair sprints and interval training, and low-intensity cardio, including fasting exercise in the mornings.”

“My favorite dish to prepare is multigrain-crusted chicken schnitzel with sweet potatoes and a spinach salad dressed with balsamic vinegar.

Lean meats, green vegetables, brown rice, or sweet potatoes are the main ingredients in my five to six daily meals.

Once a week, I treat myself to a leisurely supper, which helps keep me on track while I wait for it.

Morning

  • Lean meat such as chicken or beef, or an egg with a side of bacon or greens such as cucumber on the side
  • A coffee with coconut oil

  • A handful of nuts, cereal bar, or fruit.

“I have goals, which are the competitions I compete in, and I love to inspire people and help them achieve their goals, along the way.

Long term I would like to hit the American/International stage.”
