“When I started competing I was already into fitness and worked out at least 5 times a week but would’ve never thought I would be where I’m at today.
I believe anything is possible with the right mindset and ambition, it’s all up to you. I’m very proud and fortunate of what I’ve accomplished.”
Training
Developing Muscle Size
Marvin Moss III typically works out harder and longer when he wants to add a few pounds of muscle to his physique. To fit in every exercise, he can also lengthen his workouts.
A typical workout for Marvin goes like this: he starts with a thorough warm-up before moving on to his main exercise.
Typically a hefty complex movement, this exercise will prepare Marvin’s muscles for the following exercise by supplying them with blood.
Marvin does the following exercises with strict form and the standard 3-sets, 8–12 reps per set. The next two exercises are typically solitary ones where Marvin concentrates on the squeeze and muscle contraction.
To lessen the lactic acid that is collected in the muscles, Marvin might also perform a few stretches and mobility drills.
Practicing For an Event
Marvin does lengthy, high-volume workouts to build size, but his workouts to prepare for competitions are essentially the same.
His sessions are substantially shorter and more concentrated on intensity than the volume during the “cut” phase. They often last 45 to 60 minutes.
Marvin uses a variety of techniques to raise the intensity of his exercises, such as drop sets, super sets, and forced reps.
“If you can dream it, you can become it, and if you can envision it, you can achieve it,” the saying goes. I had a lot of wonderful individuals surrounding me who helped me achieve my goals along the way, so I couldn’t have done it alone.
Nutrition
The Off-Season Diet
Marvin consumes high-quality nutrients that refuel and build his muscles throughout the off-season.
He merely worries about consuming adequate lean protein and doesn’t worry too much about calories or macronutrients.
Tilapia, potatoes, yams, broccoli, pickles, numerous fermented foods, whole eggs, steak, hard cheese, nuts, and coconut oil are a few of the meals Marvin consumes at this time.
Seasonal Diet
Compared to the off-season, Marvin’s diet becomes stricter here. He avoids any foods, particularly processed ones, that are heavy in calories and carbohydrates.
Marvin consumes only low-calorie, high-protein foods throughout this time.
Skinless chicken breast, quinoa, low-fat cheese, sardines, salmon, egg whites, dark leafy greens, and olive oil are a few examples.
There is no such thing as an easy prep since you must always exert more effort than you did during your previous prep. But for some reason, we choose to do this because we love it.
