Early Years

Merijn from Student Aesthetics was born in The Netherlands in 1995.

Merijn’s fitness adventure began at the age of 15, to build more muscle in his tiny frame, as he was unhappy with his slim shape – leaving him with low self-confidence.

Merijn began following recommendations from fitness magazines and ‘so-called’ fitness gurus, but after two years of lifting, Merijn had little to show in terms of his results.

Unsure of where to proceed, he began conducting a substantial quantity of research into building a physique as a natural bodybuilder – being his aim to keep clear of steroids.

Merijn then discarded any knowledge that he’d been given in the past. Instantly, he began to see progress.

His hard effort at the gym started to pay off — swiftly beginning to make up for a lost time.

When Fitness Changed his Life

Merijn started by starting up a YouTube channel in 2014 to aid others in his predicament. He began sharing his tale with his followers, eventually deciding to take things a step further — setting up his own online coaching business.

However, Merijn’s firm initially failed to see much growth, but he didn’t let this dissuade him.

He stayed focused and committed, working relentlessly to make his firm a success.

It was Merijn’s mission to guarantee that his clients didn’t make the same mistakes that he made when starting in fitness.

Merijn knew from a young age that he wanted to be an entrepreneur – so he thought now was the time. This is when he decided to drop out of university to follow his fitness passion.

However, Merijn understood this choice could potentially backfire on him. His firm originally took some time to experience considerable growth, therefore it was a large risk for him to take.

Merijn understood he was taking a chance, but he sincerely believed in himself – remaining determined for his business to become a success. Merijn stated the following:

“If I didn’t grab the opportunity to at least do something for now, maybe it won’t work out. But at least I know I tried.

When I grow older I can say to myself that I gave it my best attempt, instead of choosing the easy way, doing what everyone else wanted me to do. I’m now able to earn a living out of doing what I love”.

Soon enough, his client base began to grow. Merijn was finally able to fulfill his ambition — guiding people to achieve things in their fitness journey they never thought they could.
